Absolutely brilliant place, I have been twice now and will continue to go!
First let's start with the artwork outside the building... it looks amazing and definitely brightens up the place, would love to know the artist who did it all, if anyone can tell me.... it looks as mint as a polo 😍🤣
Some unique and amazing pieces of arts, crafts, handmade chocolate and vintage clothes and items all made by local artists and craft people. Its a good way to promote small businesses and let them have a stall for themselves to sell their items.
It is reasonably priced to say a lot of the stuff has been handmade and there's something for everyone! I got excited when I saw local graffiti artist sage had a section and lots of rare comic books! It was right up my street!
If you look at my pictures attached it will give you an idea of how much variation there is!
Also a big shout out to choklet, based in there, they have a chocolate stall inside owned by mother and daughter. They gave me and my child a free sample and it tastes amazing. I ended up buying some and the biscoff and smarties bar are DELICIOUS and very reasonably priced especially being handmade. They even threw in a white chocolate coin free for my daughter who was right happy with it and she thought it was better than cadburys!! 🤤
Definitely a unique experience and worth a visit, if you like weird and wonderful like myself!!
Also you can roam about, there's no pressure to buy anything and you just pay at the front of the warehouse!
Love this place, love the merchandise and the...
Read moreSo I have mixed feelings about red brick market. I think the concept and idea is good, but the execution could be better. There are many great stalls, showcasing many talented artists and crafters (as well as the numerous vintage clothing stalls). My issue is there are some stalls that are just reselling things from temu, which sometimes is in competition with people who have made their own products.
For example, there are many artists selling stickers they have made and in order to ensure they don't make a loss they have to sell at £1 or more (which honestly is still very cheap!), but there are some stalls selling stickers from temu for 20p each.
Honestly I also do feel like stall holders are overcharged in rent for this space. Given the relatively low footfall (I've never seen it packed!), and the somewhat lacking customer service I feel that I would find it hard to justify the cost. I suspect many stalls don't make much profit, and maybe this can be seen by relatively high store turnover.
Finally I think accessibility is an issue. Technically yes I can get around in a wheelchair, but it's hard. There was no real development of the warehouse this market is in, so it's bumpy all over the place, with holes in the ground and random screws poking up in places, I was very worried about damaging my wheelchair! Also there are places where I had to turn around and go back the way I came due to a step or a narrow walkway. I couldn't go look at many products in the smaller stalls as they were slightly too narrow for my wheelchair...
Read moreRed Brick Market is an absolute gem and a must-visit if you're in Sheffield. The whole vibe of the place is really cool and creative, and it feels more like wandering through an art installation than a typical shop. It’s packed with independent stalls selling all sorts of unique and quirky finds, from vintage fashion and handmade crafts to pop culture stuff and collectables. You can easily lose track of time browsing.
What really impressed me was the range. There’s genuinely something for everyone. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for gifts, especially ones that aren’t your standard high street fare. I ended up grabbing a few horror-themed pieces and some lovely jewellery, and I could’ve easily spent even more if I let myself.
The staff were lovely too. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, and up for a chat, which made the experience even better. You can tell there’s a real community feel behind it all. Definitely recommend checking it out. If you’re in the area, you won’t find another place...
