My friends and I were excited to visit Golf Fang, but our experience was a complete disaster and a textbook case of discrimination. We were a group of friends, all adults, and the staff's behavior was appalling. We were denied entry by a security guard who insisted I, a 24-year-old, needed a physical ID. The frustrating part is that everyone else in my group was allowed to show a virtual or digital ID on their phone, but he singled me out, demanding a physical card. This was a clear act of prejudice, and it was humiliating to be treated differently from my friends for no logical reason. We explained that as an immigrant in the UK, my official identification is an e-visa, which is a digital record. The Home Office has moved to a digital-by-default system, and physical cards like the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) are being phased out. The e-visa, linked to my passport, is the legal and valid proof of my right to be in the UK. However, the management and staff were completely ignorant of this. They acted as if the e-visa system didn't exist, which is not only unprofessional but also shows a stunning lack of training and awareness of current UK law. The security guard was rude, and the management had "zero brain cells," as they also insisted on a physical ID that is no longer valid for many people. This isn't just about a policy disagreement; it's about a business that is not equipped to serve all of its customers and a staff that is either poorly trained or intentionally discriminatory. The inconsistency in how they treated me versus my friends proves this. It was an embarrassing and distressing end to what should have been a fun evening. I would strongly caution any immigrants or anyone who uses an e-visa to prove their status to avoid this establishment. Their policies are outdated, their staff is uninformed, and their service is discriminatory. Save your money and your dignity and go somewhere that respects all of...
