Absolutely loved the winter garden! Firstly I do have to say, I went in August so the weather was absolutely beautiful and warm. The flowers and trees were well in bloom. I took a lot of pictures, and overall the garden was busy. It’s not a huge garden by any means but it’s a nice place to sit while you chat with a friend or to just pass through. It had a decent amount of benches and there was a lovely little cafe inside that had seats sprawled across a small part of the garden. I would recommend just going past the Winter Garden while you’re on your way some where else. It’s not really “the main event” type of place. Regardless, I loved it. I loved that inside the garden there was a door that led to various galleries. I went into three of these art/museum style galleries.

It's a pretty oasis in the centre of Sheffield with huge tropical trees and lively flower beds, leading into the millennium galleries. There's crafty gift shops and cafes and it opens both onto the Peace gardens and opposite the Crucible. At the moment there is a great exhibition by the Heeley Art Group, local artists and of course it also has hosted the TV snooker match discussions in the past. It's a nice way to enter sheffield when coming up from the station. Always something to see and right in the thick of things. Maybe some of the plants need a bit of attention now, hence 4 stars.

Lovely indoor gardens, great place to sit and chill. Entrance to the museum inside plus a couple of lovely little crafty shops and coffee bar. There was a table football set up when we were last there which kept many people entertained. I studied the history of this place and understood that It is one of the largest temperate glasshouses to be built in the UK during the last hundred years, and the largest urban glasshouse anywhere in Europe. It is home to more than 2,000 plants from all around the world. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 22 May 2003.

A nice place to sit and eat lunch and drink hot chocolate. Today it was very busy with students celebrating their graduation with their families, taking lots of photos. The trees, plants and flowers are a spectacle. There are pieces of art dotted around the winter gardens, lots of benches to sit and spend time people watching for a little while. My 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed watching the pigeons. The glass structure is amazing .

The Winter Gardens is a nice place to visit and actually has some interesting facts about plants, and some quite stunningly high plants / trees. Some quirky items also in there, along with a coffee shop if you fancy sitting in the gardens. We didn’t try it but it looked okay and cheap enough. Worth a visit if you’re passing, and free entry. Doesn’t take long to get around though, so only if you’re in the area not a special trip I guess.

A great place to be when trying to escape the hustle & bustle of the town. Spent half an hour sitting down on the bench just taking up everything in this glasshouse. The greenery within the structure was so calming. They had clean benches and floors, provided ample bins for throwing coffee cups and other rubbish. The spot was very accessible and hard to miss. Happy I stumbled upon this place when I was visiting Sheffield for a day.
