Bassett Green Chippy — Local services in Southampton

The delivery was great. That's about it. Oh and the sausages. We ordered a mix of things:small pizza, chips, battered sausages, 2 chicken burgers (one was supposed to be spicy) and one doner kebab. Last few things should have had some lettuce/onion/fresh tomatoes but nothing,just the chicken and sauce thrown in; nothing at all inside the kebab. The pizza was not good: even my 3yo daughter said it was terrible. The mozzarella was forgotten so it was just add on top of the 3kg passata,few pieces of prosciutto and mushrooms to complete the pizza. I drive past this place a lot so finally decided to give it a go.

Ordered regular fish and chips with curry sauce. Came to £9.50 odd which is about average these days.

Food was ok. Not amazing and not too bad. The portion size was quite impressive but the chips didn't have too much flavour. Fish tasted fresh but batter could also have had a bit more flavour too.

Ticked off the list of places to visit now but not sure if I'd go again yet. As I say not bad but not amazing.

The place does look quite clean and there are 2 tables and chairs available for dine in if you wanted to. Staff were friendly.

Had a couple of meals from here last night. First time as a friend has recently moved to the area and we needed some sustenance whilst unpacking. Ordered over the phone, dealt with efficiently and quickly, order would be ready in 5 minutes, wow! That’s quick. Fish and chips with mushy peas, and a battered sausage and chips.
