just driven to curry
s stockport with the intention of buying a washer dryer. we have recently bought a tv, a cooker and dishwasher several years ago. we checked the price of the washer dryer on all leading retailers web sites and the price is exactly the same at all of them. previously we have been given a small discount or some other incentive to buy from curry
s in preference to other retailers. however on this occasion the mature lady that was dealing with our enquiry was adamant that that was the price and no incentive to buy would be given. she walked away as she was talking to us. as my wife and i were discussing what to do another sales person approached us and asked if he could help, i said we were interested in buying a washer dryer, however at that moment the female sales person that had just walked away from us interrupted the conversation and spoke to the 2nd salesman in private. he then walked away. i followed him and spoke with him, he was no longer interested in our enquiry and informed my wife and i that currys sell that much stock that they dont care if some people wont buy at the advertised price. so conclusion, no incentive to buy from currys, no discount offered to repeat customers, sales people colluding regarding customer negotiation on price. and the main issue, CURRYS DONT CARE IF YOU WALK, these were the salesman words. yes i was surprised too. not forgetting i had driven there and paid to park. i have just ordered the washer/dryer from john lewis (and got an extended warranty free and a specified delivery day, no cost, currys ask £20 for a specified delivery day) from the comfort of my armchair. no wonder the high st is dying. PS i did try to contact the manager before posting this review but after sending an email to him i did not get a reply, so one can assume hes not bothered either. appears to be the trend these days, happy to take your money but otherwise not interested in anything else, particularly customer service. No More Business for Currys from us, if you don`t care then... Read moreThe worst customer service I have ever received in my life. They sold off my tv that I had reserved and drove 40 minutes each way plus parking cost to collect.
The Stockport store manager basically accused me and my wife to our faces of telling lies regarding a reservation for a tv that had the reservation extended by Currys online team. He also made us out to be liers as he also said they had called every customer who had reserved the tv, they genuinely hadn't called us but he kept repeating that they had called everyone accusing us of lying. We have NEVER been spoken to so disgustingly ever before as a potential customer.
When I got home, I phoned Currys online team to complain and they were just as bad, I had to ask 12 times over 45 minutes and several calls after being cut off to speak to an online manager.
The manager of Currys Stockport is not fit to hold that position and should be immediately removed, he has no idea how to deal with customers and even just walked off leaving others to deal with the problem.
Even if you purchased something from Currys, would you trust them with the warranty given their extremely poor reputation and customer service?
I had already heard about their poor customer service but learnt the hard way just how bad they really are in every department.
STAY AWAY...
