Longton Exchange Shopping Centre — Local services in Stoke-on-Trent

A lot of shops are empty but worse was the amount of people the worse for wear and very loud. I think the Council should go in and start to turn it around Longton used to be a very busy town that busy there was a long waiting list for a market stall. A lot of hard work is required but I am sure it could be turned around.

Been here again today, what can I say the shop's that are still open are doing their best to help keep the shopping centre going but you can't help thinking it can't last much longer, I noticed that parking is a big problem they park anywhere they like such as disabled parking bays one large van taking up 3 so disabled drivers had to park on double yellow lines, out side shop's on double yellow lines or the zip zag lines for crossings even on double yellow lines exactly opposite either side of the road not for 2 or 3 minutes it's hours in some cases, this could be one of the problems plenty of room on the car park's you just can't get to them for vehicles parked illegally sort that out and it could improve foot fall...

Ok I'm going for five stars here. I'm actually a Longton girl, born there (and Dresden), so I'm acutely aware of how it was, after leaving the town I rarely returned, especially after it hit rock bottom. And it was bad, terrible in fact. However, we happened to need to go last week, so spent a few hours in the exchange and surrounding shops. And honestly, hand on heart, it's coming back to life! There's some fabulous indipendant shops, with a really friendly almost cosy feel. There's coffee shops and places to eat, the market is just lovely too, and very clean. The exchange is very clean actually. Whatever it is that's changed it's a good change and honestly Longton on the whole is coming back to life and it makes me personally incredibly happy to see. Obviously it's a work in progress but I'm certain it will be a fabulous...

Less and less shops such a shame used to thrive. Another shop closing Shoe Zone Longton will be a Ghost Town soon. Needs new life breathing into town centre. Really needs a revamp... Still loads of empty shops shame really because it used to be bustling. Seems too be more shops opening but it seems to be more charity shops. Quite a few Cafés have opened now we need a few more shops. Still more cafes than shops could be a thriving town centre except for city councils greed for parking charges and rates !!!!! Today has been the Star Bikers Egg Run haven't seen Longton so busy in years absolutely Brilliant it has been a great experience with so much going on. Congratulations to the organisers for a well much needed...
