Travel to Stoke for work and been to this establishment for lunch when it was under the previous management - food was great and after the new owners took over last year, I’ve tried food with the staff and it used to be inconsistent. However recently, I must say the quality of the food has gone back to the top. One of my colleagues got me a fish and chips (to break my fast with as it’s Ramadan) couple of weeks ago and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, I had quite a bit left so my wife had some when I got home and she liked it too. Had to try again recently and I must recommend the breaded cod fish and the chips with gravy & peas. Kids had some donner with chips too and they also liked the donner. I have bean to this chip shop twice and yes the food is just as standard as any other chippy,and yes I was very disappointed with the customer service I received. As a paying customer I work up and down the UK and eat in many eastablishmemts, the service I received was not only just not acceptable but was disgusting as I was not a local I had bean in the shop more than 10 minutes and didn't even get acknowledged. 2 other customers who clearly was locals received very excellent service. As a customer I noticed this and voiced it to the staff where then they got extremely abusive and had arrogant behaviour towardsthe situation. It's been many years since we last visited Yorkshire Fisheries Cobridge.. they've always been known for cooking HUGE portions of battered cod! My regular chippy is Hill Street chippy...and the lovely young lady Sam who seems to help run it extremely well had moved to said chippy in Cobridge. So we decided to jump ship and try it out. Sam was working hard at the helm as usual even in this summer heat. The fish is still huge! I tried the Tandoori chicken loaded chips for the first time - absolutely delicious!
