After visiting many times since it opened, I’m disappointed with the service I’ve received today, not just once but twice in two weeks, from the same lady at reception.
Firstly, she is so miserable that you feel unwelcome before you even reach the desk.
During my first visit, I mentioned that I had a booking but was abruptly told to get my e-ticket up, in a tone that was anything but pleasant. While trying to juggle my baby and search through my bag for my phone, I eventually found the e-ticket and was allowed through. When I then asked what table we were on, she simply replied, “Look on your phone.” I had to hunt for the table number hidden in small print. It wouldn’t have taken much effort for her to tell me directly, especially considering I’d paid £80 to get in. Although I was annoyed, I let it go.
I returned on Monday with my baby, daughter, and her friend for a nice day out before school started after the break. Unfortunately, it was the same lady, with the same cold welcome. This time, I genuinely hadn’t received my e-ticket on my phone. She insisted I needed it, claiming it was part of a new system she wasn’t yet familiar with but her tone was loud, abrupt, and rude! Completely unacceptable and embarrassing in front of the children.
She clearly didn’t believe me, so I showed her my email inbox, including my trash folder, to prove I hadn’t received it. She kept repeating that I needed it, so I asked, “Are you not going to let us in then?” At this point, she stormed off and left the reception desk. My jaw was on the floor and the girls were left confused, asking if we were allowed in?!
I’ve never been treated this way anywhere, let alone at a children’s play area. It was truly disgraceful behaviour.
Thankfully, another member of staff stepped in, was equally shocked, apologised and let us in without any issues and without needing an e-ticket. While I understand it’s helpful to have the ticket to hand, no one should be made to feel like an idiot if they genuinely didn’t receive it.
The lady manager was fantastic — she welcomed us warmly, apologised sincerely and even offered us free drinks and food as a gesture of goodwill. We accepted some drinks, which was kind, but to be honest, I would have much rather been greeted politely in the...
Read moreI hesitate in only giving three stars as this place really could and should deserve more. I visited twice during opening week, and each time staff were helpful and friendly. The food was the best I've seen at a soft play with a large range of hot food choices. They said they aim to get gluten-free and vegan options. The café seating, however, is not working well. The seats are attached to the tables which it makes it difficult to feed babies and toddlers in high chairs. And the kids love to throw things down the hole in the center of the table. Perhaps they will move them outside when the farm opens? The aspect that makes me give this place only three stars is the baby/toddler soft play area. The age range is up to 3 or 4. Different staff members gave different answers--although the website says up to 2 years old. This age range is too wide. It is very dangerous for the smaller ones --under two years-- as the older ones are too wild. It's just the nature of the age. Of course, it is up to the parents to watch their own children, but it was too crowded for anyone to have any control. Many of the mums with the under twos were worried about their kids and said they wouldn't be coming back because it was too stressful. It's a shame because the farm theme is quite cute and the soft play area is very nice, but it's just too large of an age range to be in there. I suggested to the staff that it should be up to two years old or maybe up to three at the most. Or they need to limit the number of children that are in that area at any one time. I suppose the three year olds might not be able to enjoy all aspects of the bigger play area, but they can use most of it.
For the older kids, the slides look great (except there's a straight vertical drop that looks terrifying to me, but the kids do seem to like it).
I'd love to change this to 5 stars, but for me to do so, they are going to have to make that area safe for the...
Read moreI was looking for a farm to take the kids without a long drive. With Chobham showing as a 20 minute drive I thought why not.. '14 different types and sizes of animals - from our tiny harvest mice, to our bulls.' well there were mice and lots of other small animals but there was definitely not a bull. Ask multiple members of staff where the rest of the animals were including the bull as mentioned on the website, I've been told is relocated, replaced, still there somewhere and at the vet. We did see 2 donkeys, a couple of pig, some sheep, goats, and a pen of birds including ducks and a chicken. Other than that they were all small 'household pet' type animals like rabbits ferrets guinea pigs. The animals didn't seem to have much space and the outside spaces for each set of animals was even smaller
Lots of play area. Indoor is like a small soft play centre. Outdoor has large area climbing frames with zip wire. Larger than my local park but parks like this are around and free! Bouncing pillows (un supervised) surrounded by sand and a separate 'secret sand pit', a small doughnutting slide which was unattended until later in the day.
We took a picnic as had previously seen the menu and prices online and after spending just shy of £80 on entry chose not to spend further on food.
Overall disappointed with the fact of going out to the ' farm ' and will not return due to the price of essentially soft play being extortionate.
To the owner. Please update your website, firstly to advertise what you actually have but also uploaded a ton of pictures so people aren't mislead into what they are paying for. Some people are less bothered about the animals and want somewhere to let the kids run off some steam but I didn't know that I was essentially paying for soft play. Furthermore your prices of an adult being as expensive as a child makes it more misleading that you might actually be a farm when...
