Taftan — Local services in Trafford

This is very disappointing to have to write this review.

I have been visiting this place on and off for several years. They do make good food and for the most part their prices are extremely competitive.

However, they have overcharged me more than once and this last time, because my partner doesn't enjoy confrontation, I let it go. We took our food and left. We got in and discovered that they had not included one of our items. We tried to call but the phone was engaged.

I am tired of visiting a place where I only know I am not being overcharged if I meticulously do my own math AND check everything before leaving. It is hard to feel respected as a customer. It is sad, because their curries are better priced than many and better than most in the area. And their pilau rice was much improved. But the taste of food is not worth being disrespected. So go, but do your own complete total add-up before you order, and check your order...

Good quality food, generous portions, and at a reasonable price, with a very friendly service leads to a nice little discovery in Old Trafford where I go to frequently. I particularly enjoyed the Lamb Karahi and the Chicken Jalfrezi dishes. As a rice lover, Taftan cooks it to perfection and settles well in the stomach without feeling bloated. The Chapatti and Naans are just 3 for £1 at the time of writing this review, and taste great when enjoyed with the aromatic curries. The lamb Seekh kebab is really good either on a Naan or as a starter, not overdone with spices, but has a delicate balance, and does not overpower the taste of the meat. Lovely food but found the young guy taking the orders on the counter very brash and pretty rude. Shame he told me "be quicker, I'm busy" after I looked at the menu board for 3 seconds trying to remember a sise dish I'd forgotten the name of. I had more food to order too but I just paid for the two of what would of been 7 meal orders I'd got as far as ordering at that point and that I'd gone there to order for my family and I just went to another takeaway nearby to compete my intended order.
