The young lady was pleasant but lacked the basics of any customer service and integrity. I ordered a nihari, naan and some chicken wings. She charged me £15 when really the price should have been £16.48 so I told her I’d been under charged and she had been rounding up the prices e.g if it was 8.99 she said it was £9 so I explained that’s not the case. Long story short I told her I would like her to charge me another £1.48 as she had calculated the meal wrong and she owed this down to the computer system which was in fact displaying the incorrect amount. She then proceed to try and over charge me, again I explain she was relying on the computer system which displayed the roti was more then what it was on the physical menu. When she finally took out a calculator she gave me 2p less despite me telling her that it was unprofessional to do this due to her inability to calculate. Food took a total of 30 minutes to be ready for a take away despite the shop being empty. It’s disappointing to see businesses taking advantage of Eid by charging double the price for something as basic as naan bread. In many countries, festivals are a time for discounts and generosity—not price hikes. Unfortunately, in our case, it seems some are more focused on taking what they can rather than giving back.

According to contract law, if a price is clearly displayed, the business is legally obliged to honor it. When I placed my order, no one mentioned any change in pricing. It was only after I tapped my card and received the notification that I realized I had been charged double.

When I questioned it, the cashier unapologetically said, “Labour is expensive today.” As if we don’t know the actual wages being paid. It’s the audacity and lack of transparency that’s truly frustrating.

We hired this catering company for our Eid celebration, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The curry was completely burnt, and the meat was rock hard—clearly overcooked or possibly even stale. Every single guest complained about the food, which was extremely embarrassing, especially on such an important occasion.

I tried reaching out to the director to discuss the issue, and instead of being understanding or offering a resolution, he was incredibly rude and dismissive. Despite sending clear pictures showing the condition of the food, he bluntly refused to take any responsibility.
