Bamboo Kitchen — Local services in Wirral

Toyed with posting this but I’m going to RE: Bamboo. We are in stressful and hard times but you’d think a Take away would try to capitalise...

Two hours late delivering our food (after pre-ordering around 15:00 this afternoon). Food arrived cold and was missing parts of the order.

When my wife rang up to ask for them to deliver the bits they missed, the women on the phone said she would get them to come back and deliver the rest (spoiler: they didn’t). Worth noting we also chased twice and live literally 5 mins away.

When she rang again and asked for a refund for the parts missing, the women on the phone asked her boss (I presume) and you could hear on the speaker a women behind asking “why does she want a refund?! Just hang up”.

The food, what we got anyway, was actually pretty good. But we won’t be going back.

I was tempted to give two stars just because the salt and pepper ribs were actually pretty good, but I can’t. Won’t be using bamboo...

This is easily my favourite Chinese food takeaway in the area! I love their yellow bean tofu in particular! Friendly staff, great service, a really good menu, and just simply very tasty food at a good price! I'm always looking forward to going back!

EDIT/UPDATE: I would've probably been several years ago that I wrote the above review. And having just absolutely devoured another meal from them, I thought I'd check here to see if I'd left a review. Now that I'm here again, and see that I have, I thought there would be some value in expressing how the amount that I enjoyed food from Bamboo Kitchen has absolutely held up, after years of consistent ordering. They're easily still my favourite takeaway. I can't recommend...

Sorry but not good. An amateur effort. Special fried rice was a load of dark coated rice with what looked like a dry omelette of mixed very tough meat sitting on top of it! ( and not a single prawn in sight by the way!) Veggie option was cardboard in dark coated rice. Why don’t the owners eat it themselves and compare it to somewhere that does a good job of serving Chinese / Far Eastern food? Nothing authentic about this at all. Seems like some brits with money to spare knocking up a load of old tosh? Hand over the reigns to a genuine and good Far Eastern cook, but we won’t be trying it again...
