We came for tea last night luckily we managed to get a table with it being so close to Christmas. Feeling a little peckish we opted for the beef and bacon burger with an extra patty which came out piping hot and very well presented we then ordered pudding which consisted of sticky toffee pudding with custard and apple and blackberry crumble with custard which has to be the best pub pud I've ever had staff are very pleasant and friendly especially the girl with blonde hair and the red dress who seemed rushed off her feet the pub does have a strictly over 18's policy so no children are allowed

Romantic meal for 2 but sadly was a disappointment. Very busy Saturday so long wait at the bar. The staff were friendly enough and the Landlady was very polite and helpful. They tried to squeeze on to a small table right in the middle of other diners, but helped us choose a more suitable table when requested. I ordered the mixed grill with a medium cooked steak. The steak was rare and difficult the cut into or chew. The chicken breast had no real chicken texture so no doubt a cheap breast with additives. Overall not great food but it was super busy fir them. I won't be eating here again.

*Heads up children are not allowed at this pub* Lots potential but was let down by the food. Lovely pub the food was only ok. Staff were friendly but once the pub got busy it seemed they were short staffed. We had fish and chips and the salt beef burger. The fish was a little greasy, bread was a bit stale and the burger was only ok. Overall experience was average but we won't be heading back anytime soon. Good selection of cask and draft ales though

The last few times we as a family have been here have been brilliant, couldn’t fault it an Steve the barman has always been brilliant. My poor nan looks forward to it as a lovely outing with the family. Sadly tonight I could not make it. 15/09 . My step mum brought her dog (which states you are allowed dogs in there) but tonight the manageress has reduced my poor nan to tears! An elderly women for how disrespectful and downgrading she has spoken to my family. My step mums steak came out undercooked to what she wanted an she stated that she wouldn’t be getting it fresh! The dog wasn’t even allowed passed the bloody ankle of you so dare she even blinked looking up. Wasn’t allowed to do anything other than to sit on the floor and to be seen an not heard. And the manageress is nothing but a rude person! “People without dogs pay the same as people with them” so if that’s the case they all pay for what there paying for so therefore if they want to give a dog a small piece of food when they have finished eating what is the problem! That’s what dog people do?! That’s why you invited dogs into the pub so people have have a more homely feel. So if you wouldn’t want to feel the wrath of this women legging it back an fourth to single you out infront of everyone over your fury friend. Then I suggest you bring an ornament of a dog because there supposed to be for show not what they normally do! So congratulations my dad is currently trying to calm my poor nan down as she is mortified. And before you comment back on this with your stupid comments like Youve done to the rest I’ve rang the pub 12 times to...

Not a review about the food or staff, more of a review about their website and their communication. We hadn't been to the Caernarvon Castle before and thought it looked like a nice family pub so would give it a go an get out of the house. We booked online and we wrote notes regarding bringing a young baby and may need to breast feed, just to give them a heads up and see if their was a possibility for a quieter seat but we know places get busy so didn't mind to much. We arrived at our booking time to be told on arrival that they don't have a licence for inside so we couldn't bring the baby in and if we wanted to eat we would have to sit outside! I can understand being strict about kids running round inside but never thought Ide hear of a young baby being turned away and told to sit outside. I understand licensing can being tricky things but our main issue was the fact we had stated on our booking and no one thought to contact us in the hours between us booking it and our arrival. We would have appreciated a heads up before bringing a baby out only to have to go elsewhere last minute. Since, I have checked their website again and I have now seen that it says not kid friendly but only on their FAQs which is a bit silly. You can book for a kid between 0-15 but you cant actually take them. Needs a notice first thing on the website and by looking at other reviews needs one...

Lovely pub with good beer but let down by the attitude of the bar staff. We visited here from 4pm until 6pm Saturday 23rd July and endured dreadful service at the bar. The pub was not busy so no excuse really, from what I observed simply down to shocking staff attitude. At one point there were 5 customers waiting to be served of which I was one and 2 bar staff. The female member of the bar staff, having served her current customer then decided to ignore the remaining customers and start putting glasses away. The male member of staff then left the bar to answer the telephone and went walkabouts within the pub to find the person who the phone call was for returning about a minute later, by which time the queue had increased to 7. The female member of staff continued to ignore the customers waiting to be served, in fact disappeared into the rear of the bar. The person who received the phone call then appeared at the end of the bar and had a conversation on the phone whilst watching the customer queue get longer. I THINK it was a senior member of staff, maybe even the Manageress but she did nothing to address the poor service which she must have noticed. Such a shame, lovely pub, good beer, food is good too but probably the worst customer service you will endure in Oxton. It is not a "first" either we have had similar experiences here over the years. Poorly...
