The Meadows Sports Complex — Local services in Abingdon

Great atmosphere but had a tournament this weekend and they waited 30 minutes before warm ups to push the games back from 9 to 10 then at 9 something said push it back till 12. Then at 10 they cancelled and it takes a long drive to get there for a lot of people and it’s very unprofessional and the fields were absolutely not in un playable shape. There was no standing water or anything. The infield looked like a normal non wet field. If you’re scared to let kids play on it and get it a little dirty then don’t have a ball park at all. There should’ve been someone there at the break of daylight to make a decision not at 7:30 when teams get there at 8:00 for warm ups. Just very unprofessional but the fields are beautiful but if you’re afraid to get them dirty then why build them. And we I left at 10 the sun was out so why 12 everything...

This is a very nice new sports complex. The fields all have fancy new grass - there are 4'ish soccer fields depending on how they're configured. 3 baseball fields maybe? there's a walking track that goes around the whole place, w/ access to the Virginia Creeper Trail. there's a concession stand near the soccer fields I know, maybe another near the baseball. looks like the splash pad is making progress - surely it'll be open by next Spring. very nice...

Such a wasted opportunity to create a place for the community. Could have been turned into a lovely park that was useful but instead just an excuse to put softball fields no one gets to use except travel softball teams. It's a complete...
