Just stopped in for a sandwich and first thing I'm greeted by is the cashier wanting to know if I will want fries and then she proceeded to begin frying them when I said yes. That's who I want making my fries, the person who touches money and didn't wash their hands first before cooking any food. Then while I was sitting waiting for my number to be called, I just hear "hears your sandwich" as the young gentleman behind the counter placed it on top the counter and then walked away. Then while I was eating another young gentleman, this one with much longer hair and wearing a fitted hat (like a baseball hatt for those that don't know) began to cook something on the griddle and quickly began to burn it and filled the restaurant with the smell of burnt food. The cashier actually came up and turned the exhaust fan on for him since he wasn't. After he made his 5 star dish, he then took his hat off and proceeded to shake the sweat off his head right over top the grill and around all the other food. As soon as I saw that I was done eating and decided to leave. I see no problem with young people in the workforce, I actually encourage it, but they need to be supervised and the fact they wasn't in an area as important as food service tells me this place doesn't have the management it needs to run properly. I doubt I'll be back to this place anytime soon after seeing it...
Read moreSo we drove a little ways to go try this place. With that said let's get to it. I'll explain the 4star
The cheesesteak is real good! Lot of Flavor, definitely one of the best in the area as the bread is great and not a hard bread like some places,
On to the fries we had regular fries and cheese fries, these was nothing special as they was lacking flavor them selves amd could have been cooked a little longer, the cheese was nothing special as it just tasted like a cheesy plane tater, so the fries could use some work
We got a regular lemonade and a peach lemonade, they both was very good and fresh, they could have had more in them as it was more ice then drink in this cup.
On to the workers, very nice and they was all working and helping also the store was very clean.
Now on to the reasons for the 4 star, the price! It was almost 20 dollars a person now mind you what we got was a large and that's a 12 inch sub, fries and a drink, the fries not being good didnt help and then the small cups we got for the lemonade.
Will we go back? Not sure because of the Price, and the fries need work. Now if your in the area and have no problem with the price give it a try as...
Read moreBeing from Philly, I had to try this place & this is the conclusion that I have made about my visit to Charley's:
This place has amazing cheese stakes that are top notch and totally worth the visit...but they are not true Philly cheese steaks and here is why.
Charley's uses top of the line beef and ingredients where Philly cheese steaks uses grade F beef that might be questionable if it passed FDA standards, or where it came from (or if it's even beef).
Charley's uses fancy and tasty cheese where Philly uses dollar store canned cheese wiz.
Charley's ozzes nothing but cheese and deliciousness from their cheese steak, where Philly ozzes nothing but grease that might fill a mason jar.
And most of all, at Charley's the employees were super nice, friendly, and awesome folks, where in Philly they are jerks that kick you to the back of the line if you don't know what you want when you reach the register, and yell at you.
Not a Philly cheese steak, but a seriously...
