An oasis of places! After biking the 34-mile Creeper Trail, this restaurant was a welcome site for sore eyes. It is just up the street from the Abingdon Creeper Trail endpoint and truly served as an oasis for us. We were tired, thirsty, and hungry. This place was the antidote! For starters, we enjoyed nice cold beers and some fresh brewed coffee. We then ordered food and could not have been more pleased. I got a fish sandwich with French Fries. It was excellent. The fish portion was generous and delicious. It was served on a toasted sesame seed bun. The tartar sauce was really good. And the French Fries were outstanding as I could tell that they were fresh cut and cooked perfectly. My wife got the roast beef sandwich special which she loved. Special shout out to the staff. They were so welcoming at the door and we got great service out on their nice, outdoor porch. Next time that we are in Abingdon, we will definitely go back to this awesome restaurant.

Really enjoyed our lunch today! Love the charming, eclectic decor of the place and the friendly staff! Nice menu selection too. Read about the Parmesan Fries from other reviews so we decided to give that a try, also the Golden Calamari with sweet chili sauce and their hot club sandwich with caesar salad. Food came out super fast and it was all freshly made and delicious! Parmesan Fries were crispy and hot, prepared well! Calamari was cooked perfectly; the sweet chili sauce was different and I enjoyed it! My husband liked his hot club sandwich and accompanying caesar salad. We should have skipped dessert but had to try their espresso chocolate bread pudding. They have very big servings so we left absolutely full! Definitely recommend eating at Jack's 128 Pecan!

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Jack’s 128 Pecan restaurant! I ordered the catfish sandwich and tomato bisque, and both were outstanding. The catfish sandwich was massive—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked, making it a delight to eat. The tomato bisque was creamy, decadent, and just the right comfort food to complement the sandwich. My wife opted for the blackened chicken quesadilla and the chicken and artichoke soup, and she couldn’t stop raving about them. The quesadilla had a perfect balance of spice and richness, while the soup was a warm, flavorful treat. The service was warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting Abingdon—five stars all the way!

We had two dinners at "Jack's Place" on back-to-back nights in June, 2021 because we enjoyed our experience from the first night so much. The food was great, uniquely prepared, the service was great, friendly hosts, and a really cool overall vibe to the restaurant.

However, upon our return meal the next night, everything was great until the bill came. That's when we realized that there had been an error with our bill the previous night. Come to find out, our waitress on Friday night had given us another customer's bill. It was a mistake on her part that we didn't realize until we compared our similar meal Saturday night to our Friday night meal. There was a vast difference that seemed to involve our cocktail drinks.

When we asked our server about the bill, he spoke with Jack, the owner. Jack came to our table to explain that the cocktails we paid for the previous night, had been under-charged and then corrected on Saturday's bill.

He was not apologetic for the discrepancy in price, taking an attitude of, "we should have known." Then, the topper...he sent the waitress we had from the previous night, to our table, to explain her mistake of switching the bills and how she tried to cover the mistake. We told her, we hoped we didn't get her into any trouble for asking about our bill and why the same drinks cost so much more, the next night. That's when she said..."you did get me in trouble."

This was a pretty embarrassing situation as we had no idea of the behind the scenes errors on the part of Jack's staff, but the worst part was Jack, the owner, telling his waitress who had made the mistake the previous night, to go and talk to us and let us know that "we got her into trouble for mentioning the bill."

The customer is NOT always right at...

We did not have the best experience at 128 Pecan. I was dissappointed as we are new to the area and were excited about trying out some local spots. The food was really fresh and hot but was pretty much bland. My order was wrong and I didn't bring it up because it took me a minute to realize it. I realize that is my mistake and the correct order might have improved my experience. The restaurant is cute inside and the staff clearly like working there, which I think says a lot. However, so many small practical things were frustrating about our experience. For one, the signage is strange, they have a metal sign near the road that is black and white and then a sign on the restaurant that is read and black. The logo's are completely different and the names were slightly different. As a first-time customer this was confusing. Also parking wasn't clear, we ended up pakring across the street at a church. After we left, we spotted what looked like parking in the back. However, no signage whatsoever cleared up the parking mystery. The kids menu was not on the menu. Kids need to eat too, unless your restaurant isn't kid friendly, you should always have the kids menu avaliable. it saves your server from having to recite it from memory. Honestly, that is equally awkward for the customer and makes it harder to think through a decision when your child is possibly asking a question while the server is trying to remember the kids menu. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us overall. This restaurant has really good reviews and I want to support local businesses and not bring them down, which is why I choose three stars instead of two. All of the small annoyances could have been overlooked with awesome food, but that...

We found this place online and decided to drive an hour and half away to try it out for Mother’s Day with my fiancé and one year old daughter. At first everything was going great then we realized we had been waiting for over an hour on our food we ordered. When I asked the waitress about it, she acted as if we were wrong about being over an hour and I know for a fact the time we had waited because I had texted my brother right when we got our drinks. She then came back from the kitchen and told us that it was not the kitchens fault it was hers. So I asked her what that means and she said she forgot to put our order in. So I am very glad I asked her what the hold up was on our food or we would have kept on sitting with our now inpatient one year old! But the part that bothered me the most is when I asked to speak to the manager upon departure, he came to my table and said hey what’s going on? I introduced myself and said I was just needing to speak with him for a moment and he instantly cut me off and told me “Don’t worry about it! I got it!” And walked out of the room! I had not even said nothing at all at this time beside “my name and that I was needing to speak with you!” Very rude for a manager! It went on even more than this but I don’t feel like typing all of this because it’s already wasted so much of this important day to me and my family. Long story short is that this was a HORRIBLE first time experience and whoever the owner is, you need to FIRE this manager and hire someone who actually WANTS TO LISTEN to what the unhappy customer has to say and try to apologize and fix it!! Geez will not be returning...
