Parker & Elsa need fosters or adopters, before it’s too lateđŸ„ș Parker (brown & white) #A5575864 2yo neutered male 52lbs. Elsa #A5575865 1yo spayed female 30lbs. Arrived as strays together and no one has ever come for them 💔 Sure, how nice it would be for them to leave together- but I’d rather see them leave ALIVE. No shaming of anyone who adopts one. đŸ™đŸ» It took me a while to gently coax them out of their kennel (the other barking dogs can be quite overwhelming). Once in the yard - they loosened up quite a bit and were seeking affection. They are sweet and sensitive. Let’s get these babes seen! PLEASE share, tag and comment to help! One YOUNG woman was at least kind and trying to be helpful. They requested me to return with my current dog to see how they would intermix. My dog had been playing at the Oak Park Dog Park since age 3 months. She could and would coax all sorts of sizes, breeds, ages, sex, didn’t matter . . . She just wanted to play! But when I brought her to the shelter, another very angry, nasty young lady came on board and they would not allow ANY OF THE DOGS TO PLAY WITH HER. Clearly, they did not want to lose funding and would not allow any of the dogs access to an excellent home full of love and affection and the best nutrition. I had it all ready to give. I ended up adopting through a private agency and it cost about $4K. I knew these animals NEEDED homes. I could see it in their eyes and through their behavior. I could and would have worked through any issue with any one of them. They simply cannot get well there as it’s not a safe place for their spirit. I was so disappointed and despondent for a very long time because of how my dog and I were treated. It was dismal at best. . . . . 94 degrees and they would not provide water for my dog. They pegged my dog as an “aggressive German shepherd” instead of giving her a chance. And unless you had a golden retriever or a ‘doodle dog,’ they made the very poor assumption that no dog would be safe with a protective breed. Truth is, no dog could have had it better. She looks after her co-patriot like a soldier and cares for her immensely. She would have done the same for a dog that really NEEDED a home. That was all we were trying to do. They ordered me away from the caged play area and my dog was left pacing back and forth looking for ME of course. They may THINK they know everything about these animals at age 22. But they do not. They tortured my dog emotionally and myself alongside and had no interest in placing any single dog in a good home. Unthinkable behavior. Don’t go there. Go to Camarillo. What a criminal mess! Since they are simply looking for a paycheck and are interested first and foremost in maintaining their funding instead of finding a home for the animals, they ought be shut down. ANYOBE who knows me can attest for the integrity and care I apply to all of my animals. They were so wrong about me. So wrong about my dog. And so idiotic in their behavior. They created indelible damage such that I will no longer donate to the ASPCA. So messed up. I was dumbfounded, totally, utterly dumbfounded.

My mom and I had recently lost our dog for less than a day (just got her back today) and they took her to their vet. My dog had been found with a red sweater that had adidog on it (parody of adidas) and when my mom went to go pick her up she was missing her sweater. The shelter workers claimed that the vet had to cut it off because of her wound on her back from a cyst she had a long time ago (we did take her to the vet for them to evaluate it when we first noticed it and there was nothing they could do since there was not enough skin for them to do stitches and close it so we have been taking care of it and cleaning it since). The vet instead puts this wrap on her that sticks to her wound and has slid off from where it was originally placed (images provided). Not only did the shelter staff feed my dog food that does not follow her dietary restrictions they also berated my mom for “allowing” our dog to escape our house and one of the staff members said we should get her teeth cleaned, that means putting a 14 year old, nearly blind and deaf dog in a life threatening situation. So to recap, the shelter staff lost the sweater that identified her, gave her food that could potentially give her stomach problems which could result in very high vet bills and berated my mother who has given our dog a very good life for 14 years.

Today was the second time my outdoor living cats end up in this shelter due to one of my neighbors that took them here the first time i paid 185.00 dollars to get them back this time happened again my cats here in this shelter and when i saw they were there i got happy for a moment well it didn't last much bc they were trying to charge me 485.00 dollars to get them back how on earth did that happen to get my cats back asking me to pay them 485.00 dollars is insane beyond words i felt a lot of frustration of this like you have no idea i have here in the house two acre property for them to be free and do whatever the f they want. Government institutions are bad they suppose to help us but not they are all about getting money and they are no caring about us. So just to get an idea for me the owner of the two female cats was being charged 485.00 dollars for an stranger's who wants to adopt them is around 130.00 each one.. What is the point of helping them with a donation if when your Animales end up here they try to rip you off no caring the you lost you pet and you should get back i thought this places were for the help of us and our pets but nop they care more about their money and is our money been stolen by them telling they are the law and with the law they are stolen our money hidden behind the law the supposed to be there to help us 485.00 dollars to get my cats back that is very wrong i had no choice that to leave them there for someone else to come and adopt them which the person is not going have to pay no even half of what the owner was being charged but the good thing is they are promoting the they are doing there best to find home for the animals the don't...
