I bought a pistol at BassPro in Ga and I live in S.C. so I needed to transfer it to S.C. I didn’t know who to use so guy at BassPro recommend GR8 Deals Gun & Pawn. I had never step foot in the store before this so decided to locate them online and look at their google reviews. To be honest I didn’t see one good review so this made me worry about what I was about to experience in pickup my gun. I am taking the time to write this just because the experience I had was nothing like the reviews. I called before picking up the gun to see if it had come in. The young lady that answered was very nice and checked on if my gun was their and quickly told me the stores hours and the cost for their service. I went over later that day everyone from the time I walked in was very friendly and helpful totally not what I was excepting from the reviews. I talked with four different people during the process of getting my paperwork done and get all the required paper work filled out. They all were very professional and made you feel like family. I kept wait to run into the bad apple but didn’t fine one the day I was there. Anyone can have a bad day so not sure if that is what happen with some of the reviews. I actually asked them as I was leaving if they were aware of the bad reviews. And they told the truth the only people that take the time to write a review is someone that was told something they didn’t like. They are a pawn shop they buy low and sell high and people know that before they walk in but not everyone leaves happy about it. I laughed and they did too very nice people. I will go back and I would recommend them to family and friends. I also will give BassPro feedback on how good they treated me also the transfer fee was lower than BassPro had told me but I didn’t bring that up lol. I was actually really looking forward to coming to this place based on Tommy's recommendation ( met him at the range I use ) as well the welcoming feel in the video they made and the overall good ratings. I show up with a few odds and ends leftover from my time as a truck driver ( GPS, dashcam, CB radio ). Walk through the doors with my hands full, no one offered to help or even greeted me. That's fine, perhaps they're busy, I think to myself. I set my stuff down on the counter and a woman rather gruffly asks what I have. While I'm explaining to her what I've brought in, the "iconic" Poppy just stares at me with a look that can only be described as demeaning. Like he thinks I'm crazy or something for bringing items to a pawn shop to sell. After I finishing explaining to the woman what I had, she shrugs her shoulders and glances at the Poppy character, who continues to stare at me like something stuck underneath his shoe. Finally, he just says "Not interested, can't do much with electronics". That's fine, you're not interested. I get it. The problem is how I was treated, which was a far cry from the southern hospitality they advertise in their video. No apology, no friendliness, just an overwhelming feeling that I wasn't welcome. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I will not be coming back to this store ever again, which really is quite a shame. I intended to commission Tommy to build an AR-15 for me this year. I'm also a bit of a firearm collector and buy around 5 or 6 new guns each year, and I was hoping to make Gr8 Dealz my new go-to as their selection seemed impressive. After my experience today though, I'll never spend a single dime in that store. Drove all the way from Grovetown to get treated like an unwelcome guest. I feel They are a joke can’t even answer a simple question! Say If I buy a brand new gun and shoot 50 rounds . They can’t even give you a low ball figure what they would give you on a pawn for a gun I called about in question! I couldn’t even begin to tell you what it would be condition condition condition that’s the answer. This is a gunsmith maybe wrong about that . They have cwp training Should know little something about fire arms . Just trying not to waste my time or Gr8 Dealz Gun and Pawns time !
