Recently traveled to San Francisco from Los Angeles on our sailboat. Sustained significant damage to the cable connecting to the radar dome. Received a referral to Reliable Marine from the Dock Master at the marina where we are temporarily staying. From my first call they were responsive, clearly knowledgeable, and obliging to our situation and time constraints. They ordered the necessary parts, sent me an itemized invoice with estimated costs, and set up an appointment (according to my convenience) for their service people to come to the boat. Two technicians arrived promptly at the scheduled time, evaluated and surveyed the entire electronics system to ensure there was no other unnoticed damage, and proceeded with the repairs. This included having one of them go up the mast. They were fully equipped, conducted themselves in a highly professional and courteous manner, and had the job completed with demonstrated expertise. When I had questions along the way (and there were many) they were answered fully and without any indication that I was intruding on their work. They were very careful and mindful of cleanliness throughout the process. When they completed the work they took time to review the system and to reset and recalibrate the system to my liking.
This was an experience that took a situation full of angst and anxiety to one that quite frankly became one of relief, reassurance and renewed confidence in the boat's electronics. They left the job, stating on multiple occasions, their availability by phone if I had any questions or concerns.
Should I be in need of future repairs, upgrades or replacements I will strongly consider calling upon Reliable Marine to travel to...
Read moreAfter talking to a few friends, I decided to hire Reliable Marine to upgrade my +16 year old Ray Marine C-80 chart plotter. This was a large project because I added a second chart plotter at the helm. Also had to replace my radar, add a NEMA 2000 bus along with integrating to existing Ray Marine ST-60 instruments, Raymarine autopilot, and NKE mast displays. Once I saw what the Raymarine Axiom+ could do, I upgraded my stereo to work with the Axiom+ and added the Sirius/XM weather. They did an excellent job and had very fair pricing. I was very pleased with their work and would highly recommend them for any electronics work on your boat.
About two months later, Reliable Marine Electronics came to the rescue. I took my boat up to the Delta and the dock that I was staying at for 8 weeks had just added GFI breakers to their 30amp power. Well, my boat was setting off the GFI, so I could not get any shore power. I called them and they had someone out to my boat the next day. After some investigation, they located the problem to my +16 year old inverter. Removing it completely resolved the problem. We were back on shore power and my wife is very happy. Again, many thanks to everyone at Reliable Marine...
Read moreAs a boat owner you need to create a relationship with different vendors that service your boat, from servicing your engines to topside maintenance. It isn’t always a pleasant experience as there a many more boats than vendors. Being able to create a relationship with Reliable Marine Electronics, specifically Ian their amazing tech, has been my extreme pleasure. Reliable isn’t just in their name but how they go about their business. My auto pilot wasn’t working and Ian was kind enough to walk me through several phone calls to assess the problem so that when came out to my boat he had a much better idea of the issue and how to fix it. Having someone that would take the time to do that and not charge me just so the visit could be productive and efficient and save money and time for both parties was amazing. I am so happy I found Reliable Marine and highly...
