As much as I loved the atmosphere and the wide variety of whiskeys and other liquors, I can't say so much for the food. I ordered the sausage and mash that was very disappointing. Not at all close to being authentic. The salty and overly spiced Zenners sausage is not what would be served in a Scottish Pub. The mashed potatoes with the dismal brown, watery gravy served no flavor. The scant serving of corn just kind of looked embarrassing on the plate.
My friend got the shepherd's pie, but technically it would be a cottage pie as it was not lamb, but beef. It was mediocre. It lacked some of the quintessential flavors of a traditional cottage pie.
We shared the pretzel and the pickled egg. The pickled egg was good and the pretzel was a pretzel. Served with an unidentifiable sweet dipping sauce. Nothing extraordinary.
Overall I would recommend for atmosphere and drinks only. Food fills a hole, but not something I would want to...
Read moreThe owner was great! Sat at the bar and chatted him up after our return trip from Scotland. Had a dram of Talisker by the Sea(12yr). A nice local Scotch Ale while waiting for our food. Very good ambiance, Stag themed atmosphere. Loved our first trip in. We took our food take a way. Shepherds Pie was delicious. Bangers and Mash was tasty. Kids really liked their meal. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was better than some we just had in Scotland. Overall pretty pleased with our experience. Definitely recommend this establishment and worth local support. Cheers
Update: Never disappoints. Finally tried The Glenturret 27yr, amazing! Smoothest Scotch we are going to find locally. Worth the wait, and we opened with the The Balvenie Caribbean Cask. Grand evening with great service. Wife and I had a wonderful...
Read moreThe Squeaky Cork is a must stop destination! Whenever I’m home from college I make sure to stop by multiple times to enjoy their excellent food and beverages. Owners Kristi and Josh, along with their amazing staff, always go above and beyond with their service, giving great suggestions for drinks to try and what to order from their menu since it’s always hard to pick just one! My current go to meal at The Squeaky Cork is to start with their appetizer Pickled Eggs and Pretzels, that is served with their house made honey mustard that is to die for, and then their Firehouse Chili for dinner and finished the meal off with their delicious warm Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake and Ice Cream. If I could give a million stars to one place this would...
