She started out good until she became very unresponsive, unprofessional, and discriminatory. As a successful Massage Therapist in my 20s, I am very picky about Massage Therapist. She is good at bodywork. She is not good with people.
As a clinical social worker, mental health therapist, and Curandera with my own successful private practice for over 10 years now, I can say with confidence she is unprofessional and discriminatory. She will cancel your appointment on you and then say that she "doesn't have any openings for three months," and then not respond to messages requesting to schedule again after the three months. She should just say how she really feels with customers instead of just leaving them on "read". I have absolutely no problem telling clients that they are not a correct fit. And I will never discriminate based on gender.
I was referred to her by my trusted chiropractor, and I will make sure that my chiropractor knows about her unprofessional business practices, and I will encourage all sorts of people, including the people that come into my practice to stay far away.
And then she has this really dumb "charge your card once a month practice" ("for a package") and then you get a massage anytime you'd like. It's ridiculous. It doesn't even make any sense. Just pay for your massage at the time of service. It's not like she gives you any kind of discount, she just gets paid automatically and then she may or may not give you a massage that month, it's weird.
I know as a private practitioner in the state of New Mexico for over 30 years now, that we certainly get to decide how we run our practice and who we serve in our practice. However, you should not get in the line of healing people and helping people heal and recover if you're just going to be unprofessional and discriminate against them. Stay away! She doesn't even bother to moisturize her cracked heels and they dig into your skin as she's...
Read moreAs someone with chronic pain and headaches, I was so thrilled to come across Jo. She is responsive and extremely skilled and intuitive at personalizing the massage to address what a person may need. I left my first session feeling like I had just gone through a growth spurt because my muscles and spine finally felt some relief. Her positive outlook and knowledge too also left me feeling encouraged and motivated to get back in habits to keep caring for my body. I can't wait to have more sessions with Jo, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a massage therapist, especially if you prefer deep tissue...
Read moreJo is a great massage therapist. When you enter, the space is welcoming and peaceful. Jo communicates well before, during and after your massage. She asks what you want to focus on, checks in about pressure during the massage and gives you ideas for how to care for your body when you walk out of her studio. If you ask Jo to adjust pressure, she will and is always open to feedback to meet your body where it is on any given day. I am so glad I found Jo and highly recommend her for Ashiatsu, deep tissue and...
