It was an awful experience. It may be unfair to judge a business based on their performance on the first day but here’s the series of events. I ordered Tandoori chicken wings as appetizer. They use food coloring on their tandoori to get the beautiful orange red color. But due to the color they didn’t even realized they were serving raw wings to a customer. Yes, I was served raw chicken wings. RAW. So I sent it back.
After a bit the wings came back, this time overcooked and I strongly believe they put the wings on the grill where some fish item was being grilled so it was extremely fishy and gamey. I tried to eat it with lemon to cut down the smell. Didn’t complain anymore as they say “it’s their first day”.
Ordered lamb gosht curry and called the waiter to make sure about the spice level since I do enjoy my food spicy. But they served it mild. We did let them know it wasn’t spicy but again according to them “it’s their first day”.
I understand it can be a rush when it’s a new business. But they claim they HAD a restaurant before too. Their behavior was good, but I believe the chef needs to at least taste the food (like Gordon Ramsey does!!!) before sending it out. And when a customer is not satisfied because the food was raw, maybe take it out of the order if it’s impossible to make it on time? Or follow some other restaurant etiquettes. But don’t rush and put chicken on a grill where fish was being cooked (or maybe something else idk, it...
Read moreI can say this is the most authentic Indian food I have found in Albuquerque. I used to live in India for many years and the food here brought me back with the first bite. I started with samosa and the flaky crust was so savory. For the main course we ordered Chef's special chicken Tikka and it was cooked perfectly with a tang of the marinade coming through with every bite. Along with that we also had Aloo Gobi and don't worry they ask you how spicy you like it (I always ask for desi level 😅) roti and naan were excellent. I had masala chai and it was like how my Chachi used to make it. (So it was very good!) For dessert we had mango custard and that was the show stopper for me! I took one bite and closed my eyes, listening to golden age songs like I used to with my Dadu, and boom, the taste and atmosphere had me feeling like I was sitting in a cafe back in Delhi.
The staff are the heart of this restaurant and made me feel like I was with family while I was there. Everyone that entered was greeted warmly and even though it was our first time... They treated me like a regular. Without a doubt this is my new spot and I plan on going back to try the entire menu! Just go, you won't be...
