Ive been a client since 2022. At first, I thought the agency was amazing.
Then I had a conflict with a couple case managers about my front door lock malfunctioning. I filed a grievance related to the conflict. After filing the grievance, I did not receive case management for eight consecutive months. I filed a second grievance stating I felt my case management services were prematurely terminated. While the agency does acknowledge that there were "definitely periods of time case management did not occur," they deny it was intentional.
After my grievance was closed by the agency board, the assistant director threatened to take my housing voucher away, like they did to other clients, if I didn't sign a document that stated I willingly opted of case management. I did not sign the document. I also learned that the agency cannot terminate CoC housing vouchers for failure to participate in supportive services like case management. While my case management abruptly ended without my consent after filing a grievance, the agency stated they have terminated other clients for failure to participate in services, which is a direct violation of the CoC Housing Voucher Standards of Care policy.
I also filed a complaint to the state Licensing Board against this agency.
The director, Mrs. Repp, defamed me in an email stating that I was denied entry to a similar agency for "aggressive behavior." My records from the other agency state that my case was closed at my own request after failing to respond to my case manager, no mentions of aggression. However, the records show that the Dream Center told the other agency I was "difficult to work with" and a "Karen."
Clients who file grievances are disrespected, defamed, and retaliated against. At least I was. The Dream Center board sent me a letter claiming the agency did nothing wrong. The State Licensing Regulation Board of Social Workers stated they will be reprimanding the licensed individuals involved in my unethical experiences. The licensed clinical director in question no longer works at this agency because of this issue, leaving the agency without regulated ethical standards and no oversight.
For individuals or organizations who act unethically, disrespectfully, and without accountability; I proudly admit I absolutely am a difficult person to work with.
If you're a client who feels that you've been mistreated, I suggest reading the CoC Standards of Care policy and/or ask the administration what funding is utilized for your services and search for those policies...
