Very surprised to see this restaurant completely empty during lunch given the quality of the food we were served here. Itโ€™s a bit of a diamond in the rough. I ordered the Birria tacos and they were pretty damn good. Portion size was excellent, service was great. The restaurant was clean, food came out quickly. They also have a very impressive live ivy that skirts the back of the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone especially during lunch.

Big open space, comfortable clean environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Lots of big tables and booths. Perfect family or business meeting space. The taco burgers are my favorite. The restaurant was empty when I came and I was surprised. The food is so good! Love this place.

Big open space, comfortable clean environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Lots of big tables and booths. Perfect family or business meeting space. The taco burgers are my favorite. The restaurant was empty when I came and I was surprised. The food is so good! Love this place.

My partner and I love finding local restaurants with charm and amazing food, and El Sombrerete did not disappoint! Delicious meals, very attentive waitress who was very patient with our lack of Spanish. They also have great drinks!

It's literally the BEST Mexican food I have ever had in Albuquerque N.M. ๐Ÿ‘ Everything we got was so tasty we ate it every last bite . ๐Ÿ˜‹ We got a Carne Asada Sope, a Carne Asada Gordita, and our favorite was the Carne Asada Empanada. The guacamole ๐Ÿฅ‘ was my personal favorite ๐Ÿ˜ โค๏ธ and my Mom really enjoyed ๐Ÿ˜‰ the fresh Crema . Both the Red and Green salsas were spicy and scrumptious ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜œ ๐Ÿ‘Œ We got our order to go & had a feast at home ๐Ÿก ๐Ÿ˜‹ We will dine-in ๐Ÿฝ next time I'd like to try the Torta and the Mexican...

I ordered a birria taco plate and carne asada burrito. 10/10 on both! Super delicious. Definitely coming back!

Edit: Changed my 5 star to 2 star because it says they are open till 8. I ordered food on the phone around 7:00 and drove 30 minutes just for them to already be closed at 7:30. Please...
