Golden Pride East — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Very disappointed with this restaurant. I had heard wonderful things about Golden Pride but did not get the service I expected. I ordered a large amount of chicken for a company luncheon ( 20 piece fried, 20 piece BBQ and 20 pieces mixed). 20 piece orders come with 2 sides. To make it simple I ordered mashed potatoes/gravy and spicy beans for all three. i also ordered rolls to finish off the meal. When I paid for the order I clearly specified what the order was. When I was given the order I was told here is the chicken and we (the restaurant) put the sides in with the chicken to keep them warm. Wonderful I thought but did not lift the foil as I didn't want the chicken to cool off too soon because I had to transport over 10 miles from the restaurant. When I was setting the items out for the luncheon the BBQ chicken looked a little sparse, after counting we realized we had been shorted 9 pieces of chicken. The sides were the smallest sides I've ever seen for that large of an order and they were incorrect. I had 3 mashed potatoes/gravy but only 1 spicy beans and for some strange reason 1 order of green beans. When I called the restaurant to talk with someone about the mistakes in the order the person I talked to was very curt. I told her we were short on our BBQ and she told me "I personally cut and packed your chicken myself and it was absolutely correct" (wrong, 3 of us counted that chicken and it was short) when I told her about not having enough sides she told me that the person who rung me up had put it in wrong. Strange because when it was read back to me it was correct. Then she said come back and we'll get you the rest of your sides, I told her several times that I was not close enough to her restaurant to go back to pick it up and people were already filling there plates so there was no time to go back. Her response was to bring in the receipt and she would give me beans at a later date. No apology for the messed up order and she basically called me a liar. I have no intent to go back to this restaurant for any reason, not even to take the receipt to get the sides that they shorted me on. It is way out of my way, we were trying to give a local business our patronage but this will be one restaurant that we will not use twice. Been eating there for over 30 years.

This is the first t I was displeased with the service. Waited in the drive thru for about 20 minutes after I paid for my order ( that wasn't the problem) moved up to the window to retrieve my meal is when I became dissatisfied . I ordered 1 chicken sandwich (sandwich only) and 1 chicken and rib combo (chicken wing and coleslaw and tea for the drink. Total price $14 and some change 1. The waiter confirmed my order, then about 3 minutes later, he told me it would be 20 minutes before the ribs would be ready . I asked him how much difference in price is it if I just got 2 chicken sandwiches. He went to the register and said about 10 cent difference in price. Iisaid ok give me the 2 sandwiches. Then I thought as I was reordering, the price difference should be more than a dime. I told him that's not right. He left and came back with a manager. Ok now I'm about 15 more minutes. So we went back in forth for a few minutes she told me to be patient. Finally she gave me $ 2.26 and said that was the difference. I took the money waited another 5 minutes for my order. I just wanted to get out of there. Got my order and left. I didn't bother to see if my refund was correct just wanted to get out of there. Again been eating there for over 30 years, But that manager rubbed me the wrong way. Of course I'll eat there again. What they could of done was told the customers when they ordered it be about 20 mins for the ribs to give them a chance to change the order. Or Somebody should of came out and told the people in the drive up when they found out they where out. It appeared to me why it was taking so long at the pick up window that people changing their orders when they got to the pick up window. Anyway the food is good.
