I've been coming here for over 5 years. Before moving away from NM, my friends and I had a weekly "Pho-day Friday" tradition. Kim and the Pho Linh staff are able to serve our four tables full of hungry college kids and the rest of the other diners without any delay or messed up orders. Kim is like our Mother, who feeds you and welcomes you at any time. I truly miss her and her family. I come back every chance that I get. There's no place like home, or in our case, Pho Linh.
My favorite things to order are the Spicy Pho Tai with beef on the side (you drop in the slices of raw beef in the steaming, hot broth to get the beef tender and medium-well done). If you feel like trying something traditional and new, try the 7 Courses of Beef (call in advance and Kim will have everything prepared for you by the time you get there!). The Cafe Sua Da (Iced Espresso with condensed milk) will get you up and at 'em, ready to conquer bar crawls, last-minute study sessions, or just a normal day in the hood. Also, the Avocado Shake is delicious for dessert, you can take it to-go and put it in the freezer and eat it as ice cream for a midnight snack.
Please support this local business, it is rare to find such wholesome, hard-working, and honest people serving...
Read moreWe have been customers here for over five years and really enjoy each visit. By now we have tried almost every dish on the menu, and they are all superb. The menu is vast and there is something for everyone - at least everyone we have ever brought here. The food is always freshly cooked to order - the owners even grow their own mint, basil and other herbs. They also make their own sausage for the chao (congee). Somehow Vietnamese from all over the country know about Pho Linh and go there if they are passing through Albuquerque. The restaurant has had many great reviews in local papers and has won this year's Albuquerque Magazine Hot Plate Award for their House Special 7 Courses of Beef, which is indeed worthy of the award. This special is supposed to be for two, but will easily feed three. All the appetizers are fabulous too, and we often make a meal of just appetizers, usually ordering too many. The shrimp salad appetizer makes a good-sized meal by itself. The beverages are great too, especially the shakes and the new pennywort drink. The owners work 7 days a week and are really dedicated to providing the best food possible for their customers. This really shows at the table. Albuquerque is lucky to have this gem of...
Read moreOCT 2022 update. Visited this place again and the food was still tasty. Tables and atmosphere were the same. The only distractor was the lady taking my order came across like she didn’t want to be there and taking my order was an inconvenient chore. Maybe she had a bad day. Maybe not. I would rather just place my order at the cashier than to see her grumpiness.
For a Viet place in New Mexico, I can’t fault them. I had their spicy phô and it was alright man. It could have been spicier/hotter, but I get it. They can’t make it too hot otherwise peeps couldn’t eat it. My folks had the veggie phô and it was legit. They’re usually really picky and hard to please. They were happy with what got.
Also the place was really clean. Sat next to the window and the window edges were clean. You do that in any Americanized/westernized place and it would dirty with dead bugs. Not here. Tables were clean too. The ladies were very nice and polite. I’ve held off on coming here due to their location on Central, but it’s a good stop for a meal. In he end, stop by and give them a try. I say their good to go, and I’m a Vietnamese dude. Hope they do well and wishing...
