good selection, well-curated, not overpriced, and some real gems to be found. glad there's another good source for good vintage objects and clothes in Albuquerque, and the owners are friendly and clearly interested in the objects they sell.
but oh my god I hope they change their mind about the awful, lowest-common-denominator club soundtrack playing way too loud throughout the entire store—totally misses the mark for the sorts of people who would be interested in well-considered vintage goods, and makes for an incongruous, un-relaxing, tacky atmosphere. you don't have to play muzak or vintage tunes like every other antique store if you're not into that, but blasting the same stuff they play at bad mall stores selling cheap fast fashion is a major miss in the context of some otherwise great curation.
edit: I went back another time, and the were playing super chill music – what a difference. in any case friendly staff knowledgable about history, fantastic curation and selection, and tons of thoughtful, quality items. more places like this, please!

It seemed like one of the staff members was pretending to be on the phone while walking around the store, clearly keeping an eye on customers instead of genuinely assisting. The people at the register didn’t really engage either — they were more focused on watching the large security monitor behind the counter than interacting with shoppers. I completely understand wanting to protect merchandise, but the energy came across as unwelcoming rather than attentive. It’s unfortunate, because the store has some interesting pieces, but the atmosphere made it hard to browse or...
Read moreIt sad to go to a place and trying to shop around and all of the sudden you get an employee coming around you twice telling you if you needed help, I know I told them in the register about how uncomfortable I felt and one nice employee apologized for the other employee and the employee said that she needed to give me a sticker to know who was the vendor I was buying from but hopefully you find other ways maybe just put the vendor sticker and asked at the register ? realize that one time asking is enough if I wanted more help then I could go and get you. She even took a print that I was going to buy outof my hands which I found very rude too.. last time I came it was so...
