Creating a sanctuary at home with Sukhmani Jewelry & Furnishings: a review of intentional design and well-being.
While this review is long overdue--many years in fact--the upside is it allows us to share our years of experience as customers of Sukhmani and clients of Sat Gurumukh, the owner and founder.
12 years ago we embarked on an authentic journey of synergy and partnership which slowly but surely has transformed our home's interior and exterior living spaces into areas of beautifully balanced design accented by timeless and unique pieces from all over the world.
Placing our trust in Sat Gurumukh's amazing talent and passion for helping people create exceedingly comfortable and beautifully designed spaces that reflect his client's essence has been a labor of love and an extraordinary process to be a part of and watch unfold.
We absolutely love coming home! Our house is our sanctuary. It is a place that invigorates as much as it heals. We never thought it mattered to have someone journey with us in order to help us create spaces that positively (powerfully so) impact us on a daily basis. I think all too often we don't give enough credit to the things that surround us and the profound effect they can have on us. And having had the opportunity to meet and work with Sat Gurumukh--an individual who is devoted to understanding and resonating with his clients, compassionate and incredibly talented--has been such a gift.
Whether you are buying one piece once a year or buying an entire household, Sat Gurumukh treats everyone with the same enthusiasm and commitment. He offers a true relationship, which is very rare these days. I hope you have the opportunity to stop by one of his stores in either Albuquerque or Santa Fe. They are both phenomenal in their display of unique pieces from around the world, incredible jewelry and design; you can feel right away the positive energy and welcoming atmosphere in both stores. I can't say enough good things about Sat Gurumukh and his stores. Visiting one of his stores and engaging in dialogue with Sat Gurumukh Is an experience I hope everyone has the opportunity to take in. You will not be...

My Experience
I stopped by the store in January to "take a look"- really never thought I would find something that could/would fit in with my modern décor. The minute I walked into the store, my senses were elevated. The music, visual beauty, scents from the candles and the chocolate Hershey Kisses at the door made me want to curl up on one of the beds and not leave.
Turns out this is a family owned business . They have deep roots in both NM and India. They carry special pieces that are imported from India, China and Tibet - most are one of a kind. I met both the father, Guru Bachan and his son, Sat Gurumakh Khalsa - Wonderful people.
There was no pressure to buy and they let me just look around - everywhere I looked I saw something beautiful. They ended up taking me to their warehouse to look at some unique pieces that they had imported from India and I fell in love with one that is now in my meditation/yoga room. I am attaching some photos to this review so you can see how they have helped me to design my room & the special rug they helped me find for a VERY long hallway. (No - the dog in the photo did not come from the store!)
I stop by the store on a regular basis to see what new pieces have arrived and to say hello - I always see something new. The store carries a variety of items--lovely scented candles, bedding, framed large photos, mirrors, furniture, statues, you name it. I highly recommend this store - especially if you are looking for a special piece for your home, a gift or just visiting Albuquerque. Get ready - this will be a novel experience that will fill your senses and...
Read moreI visited the Sukhmani warehouse with aspirations of refurnishing our newly remodeled home out of state. Upon arriving I was completely disarmed by Sat Gurumukh Khalsa’s hospitality. He was extremely warm and accommodating, the type of person you want to be around. The pieces in his collection are exceptional. The question was not “what do I like?” but rather “how will I choose?” They’re all fabulous, rich with rustic authenticity and incredible details. Every question or roadblock I posed was met with solutions, problem solving, and genuine enthusiasm for my project. Sat Gurumukh Khalsa readily offered his design know how to simplify and facilitate our vision. He is also very business savvy, affirming that the magic of our experience would not be lost when pen meets paper. I was then invited to the Sukhmani showroom in old town Albuquerque. This shop is a must see! Sleek modern furniture was skillfully paired with artisan global pieces that truly create an intoxicating and harmonious aura. Sukhmani is a lifestyle brand that inspires and excites the imagination. I am thrilled to have come across such a rare gem and cannot wait for what’s to...
