I visited ny6designs today as the first jewelry supplies shop on an itinerary of 5 stores. I'm very glad I did, because I had more time to spend there. The store's proprietor was very friendly and approachable. She answered any and all questions I had with a kind smile. The selection of beads is top-notch, with the prices of all products clearly labelled. The bead strands were grouped in an orderly fashion by stone type, and the spiritual properties of each stone were displayed neatly behind each strand display, for those who are interested in the metaphysical aspect of jewelry. The owner, Amy, is not imposing at all, and is more than hospitable. If you want to know what a particular stone is, she can tell you. If you want to know how to use it to make jewelry, she can tell you. If you want to know whether a stone is synthetic or natural, or if it is dyed or naturally-coloured, she can tell you. The store has a few small stones on the floor in the corners, but it's all out of the way. The products are very reasonably priced, and you can pick them up and feel them for yourself before you buy them. The owner is very open and knowledgeable about her wares. The air and surfaces in the store are clean and inviting. The shopping experience is introvert-friendly and I'd say the worst part of the entire experience is leaving. That, and the door chime startled me. Jokes aside, I'd definitely shop here again. The only reason I might end up not doing so is that I'm only visiting Texas, and I will soon be going...
Read moreMy daughter, wife, and myself just decided to go beads-hunting today. I took the summer off from teaching because I just passed all my PhD requirements (except the dissertation). I figured I could spend time with my daughter. We went to this bead shop in Allen and were surprised with great array of choices of beads. They are very reasonably priced, the beads are obviously of better quality than the ones you buy at craft shops/stores at the same price range. But the biggest reason why I LOVE this bead shop now is how they were patient with my daughter the entire time that my wife and I were shopping. The owner and Shali were very accommodating and very warm—they taught us how to string beads properly, the right materials to use for the particular beads we purchased, and they gave a compelling discount to my wife, who just bought A-grade sapphire and emerald jewelry. We will definitely keep coming back there. They earned our loyal patronage. The shop was very organized, the goods well-curated, and again, the people were awesome! Nina (I think was the name of the owner) and my daughter had such a fun time. 😊 Great place, great people,...
Read moreThe walk through and experience was great the organization of the establishment is also great.
When my partner and I got to the check out however. There was an issue we were purchasing on behalf of our business to use the tax free ID for our business and not a resales. They have things set up for resales not businesses. This caused a great deal of frustration for my partner who is deaf. Disagreements caused us to walk out. The employees and owners are all Asian and are not English speaking, so communication was very difficult and I believe that is why we couldn't support this business today.
I would say if you are just buying beads to make a necklace, buy here, just know it's gonna be expensive. If you are a business, avoid them at all costs. They are...
