Jenkins Lumber & Hardware — Local services in Alpine

Unbelievably helpful people here! My vehicle battery died while on vacation about a year ago and they were the closest place that sold new ones so I bought one from them. I didn't have my tools with me, but they found their toolkit for me and let me borrow everything I needed to get it installed.

Fast forward a year in the future, today in fact. The battery had gone bad (likely due to my kids leaving the lights on a time or two), but was under warranty for a full year and a half more. I couldn't find the receipt and took the long shot in the dark by calling Jenkins Lumber. I found the date I bought my battery, and the manager went to the trouble to help me find the receipt and then e-mail it to me.

I've gotta say, customer service like that is incredibly rare. They went out of their way to help me out with the tools a year ago, and out of their way to help me again today. Thanks to them I was able to save about $150 by getting a free replacement with the receipt.

Windows were ordered as a special order, was told they had lower pricing then anyone else, my trust and my error I didnt check around, but after all my doors came in different then ordered, with no brick molding I decided to check around. Also let them know the windows for the basement would not fit the metal bucks we had ordered them for, I was told they are a special order see if you can sell them. So we sold a couple still in the boxes at a loss. Check around for pricing, My trust cost me over $3,000.00, see photos I uploaded...

This place has more and better service than you would expect. It doesn’t have those selection of the Home Depot, but it does have one the best selections for our hardware store in the area.

The staff is extremely helpful and good at their job. They can also order in most things you need and is cheaper than the competition.

They also have better products than most of the competition...
