A few years ago we purchased an expensive vacuum from the original owner when it was "Amarillo Vacuum and Sewing"... took it to the new owners for some service and repair last year. Received a call in December that they had to order a part and said it would take a bit to get it, I said that was fine- I had purchased a walmart brand vacuum to use in the interim. Then after not hearing from them, I called in April. Only to be told that they had left a ton of messages and when they did not receive any return calls or "ok" to fix it, that they threw it out. To which I replied I did receive a call and I did approve the repair. So they ordered the part, fixed it, and then thru it out? I find that hard to believe. I understand being a repair/service operation can be tough. However, I have checked my phone records and messages. I had nothing from them. I also asked for the specific dates they had called only to be told that it was just noted they had called many times. I have worked for a family owned, small service company, and any time we called a customer with an issue, we noted the date and time. I realize not everyone does this, which is unfortunate. I am guessing someone did not note that they had spoke with me, and either the part did not get ordered or it did and the repair was done. AND to be fair, I did not write down who called and when for the conversation regarding the repair, as I was driving, so that is on me. My mistake for giving them too much time to repair it and not being better at calling weekly to find out where it was at - I am disappointed to say the least and would not recommend unless you have the time and energy to make sure to document EVERYTHING.
Three stars because I did not document the phone call I received for repair. My own livelihood is small business- I hope they make improvements and that this is just an...
Read moreDO NOT TAKE YOUR SEWING MACHINE HERE!! I took my sewing machine in to get a routine service maintenance, nothing was wrong with the machine, worked perfectly fine, just wanted to get the suggested yearly maintenance. They said it would take 3-4 weeks, after having the machine in their possession for 5 weeks, when they went to look at it the machine would not turn on. The machine was working perfectly fine when it was dropped off!! It suddenly stopped working between when I dropped it off and the 5 weeks they had it. They had no reasonable explanation as to why it stopped working. On top of that, they could not get the part to fix the machine. The technician and manger could only offer excuses and non-answers to my questions. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTLY TERRIBLE SERVICE. I was told an owner would be calling to talk to me, but it has been three weeks and I have not heard anything from the owners.
Edit: I find it interesting that the owner has not tried to reach out and contact me in any way until I left this google review (I have not received any calls from the owner, despite the owners response). I would welcome a phone conversation to...
Read moreIf there were no stars available that is how I would rate Amarillo Vacuum Do not take your Dyson vac to this place. Took mine and they said I need a new vacuum head. 7 months later they said it was ready. I kept calling and calling but it took that long. Paid my bill of over $200. Brought the vac home and went to clean the floor and the head stopped working after about 2 minutes. Took it back to the store and they said it was not warranted. It was supposed to be a Dyson part per their staff and manager at the time. but I think they used a wanna~be-Dyson part. I had called Dyson and they said all parts were warranted. After numerous phone calls to Amarillo Vacuum and their lying staff telling me the part as on order and I would get it - no results. It’s been over a year and still nothing for my $200 plus dollars. I have had multiple Dysons and love them. But this firm will never see any of money again. Do not use this firm. Bad service . Staff that lies....
