Triangle Realty — Local services in Amarillo

We're the second poster on here who did not have a good experience with Missy Harris. She got us to make concessions to the homeowners that we should not have had to make if she were properly representing us as our buying agent.

She and her fellow agent friend (I think her name was Carly), both worked for Triangle Realty, so their company received commission from both the home purchase and the home sale. That only bothers me in that she did nothing on our behalf to represent us as the home buyer.

One major concession we made was that there was rotted wood on the back porch area because the previous owners never installed gutters. We were moving in from out of state and took Missy's word for it that new wood was extremely scarce, and that for us to demand that the homeowners pay for the damages they caused would hold up the closing time frame.

After moving in, we called a handyman service who installed the repairs with new wood within 1-2 days at a cost of $4,300.00 that we really should not have had to pay. Missy was either dishonest or completely uniformed, but regardless, this was terrible client representation on her behalf.

Secondly, the previous owners had moved out a few weeks prior to our moving in. Missy had a cleaning service and bug spray service done that she had the nerve to charge us for, again, not representing our best interest. Upon arrival into our new home, we were greeted with hundreds of dead bugs on the floor entering from the back porch where the rotted wood had not been replaced. We refused to pay for the bugs spray service, so she had to pay for that, but we should not have even been asked to in the first place.

Missy did show us several homes, the presentation of which was professionally-done. However, my wife picked out the home that we now live in, and it was not one that Missy had recommended. We don't feel like she earned nor deserved the commission fee we paid her.

We've had to address several thousand dollars of home repairs in the time that we've lived here. Some of these may not be anyone's fault, but we don't believe Missy had our best interest in mind during the closing for the reasons stated in this review.

I can't say that Triangle Realty is a bad company because they may have several good agents to work with. However, I agree with a prior reviewer in that I would definitely not recommend picking Missy Harris as your real...

From the beginning I knew my wife and I needed knowledgeable professionals to sell our house. After doing some research and meeting Jamie Haynes, everything I knew about real estate pointed to Trangle Realty. Having a rural home was the challenge as not everyone want to live "in the country" even though the property was in Howardwick. Lexy gave us some useful pointers and soon we were showing!
