My 2nd visit to An Lei! My first time about a year ago I asked for a root perm (more volume) and layered cut. It looked so good even growing out that I didn't need a haircut for a whole year.

This time I asked for a loose wave perm and he delivered! He is very knowledgeable and experienced with hair design. He makes sure to educate you as a client if he thinks something would suit your face shape better. Also, he provides services at very affordable costs and adds thoughtful touches (like a Keratin treatment before my perm, snacks and coffee during). He also has a spare room for friends/family to relax while waiting for you. Since moving to the DMV from CA I have been looking for a consistent hairdresser and An Lei has not disappointed! He fixed my hair after getting a poor cut somewhere else. Very professional and detailed.

Edit: After washing my hair and letting it fully dry I am able to see that my hair is significantly shorter than what I asked for. I asked for the cut to be evened out and that a MAX of 1 inch be cut to accomplish this; he cut 3-4 inches off my length.

I was charged $70 for this haircut (it does not include shampoo, or a blow out) and now my hair is too short to even wear in a side braid (I wear a side braid everyday).

He also used thinning shears all over my hair without asking if I wanted this beforehand. This created short strands that poke out when I try to braid my hair.

For $70 elsewhere you can likely get your hair both shampooed and cut the correct length. I can cannot recommend...
