My experience with Annapolis Geeks has been very positive. The reason I contacted them was because I cracked the screen on my Lenovo Yoga laptop/tablet.
About 6 months ago I cracked the screen to my laptop but I was still able to use it after disabling the touch screen function. Recently I dropped it again and the screen went completely black. For about two weeks I searched for a company to repair the cracked screen. I called about 6 different places before I was refereed to Brian at Annapolis Geeks.
I visited every "screen repair" business around the area I started with Annapolis mall, Columbia mall and Arundel mills. Each location was either a one man band kiosk in the middle of the mall or a small fly by night spaces with folding tables and chairs and a single hand painted sign saying "phone repair" None of the mall locations gave me confidence to trust them with my $1,500 laptop which I use to run a small business.
After realizing I shouldn't cut corners and pony up a the money needed to have the screen repair done right the first time. So I took it to Best Buy... terrible idea. The "Geek Squad" employee's first move was the try and sell me a new laptop, this was an immediate red flag. Then he said it would be a $149.00 diagnostic fee. When I asked how long the repair process would take he said it would be a minimum of 5 weeks and could take as long as 3 months. I was shocked, when I asked him where the repair facility was he did not know. When I asked him how much the repair would cost, he said anywhere between $400-$800.00. Needless to say took my computer and left the store.
At this point I had been looking for a quality local repair shop and after calling some Annapolis IT companies for referrals I was told to contact Brian at Annapolis Geeks.
Annapolis Geeks was fantastic to work with. They were honest about all their fees and pricing structure. Annapolis Greeks Diagnostics fee was $49.00 and goes towards the cost of the repair if you decide to use them to make the repair. The total repair ended up being around $250.00. Significantly less than Best Buy and much cheaper than having some mall kiosk break my computer while attempting to fix it.
Annapolis Geeks is polite professional and had a quick turn around. It only took less than 72hr from when I dropped it off to when they called me to pick it up. The repair job was perfect and look brand new. I am very glad I found such a great local company and did not get ripped off.
I picked u my repaired computer from Annapolis Geeks this morning. While chatting with the office manager I learned they are a certified Dell Distributor. I have been looking for a new printer and monitor for my home office and inquired about what they had in stock. It turned out they had just received a new shipment of Dell monitors and printers.
Their new stock was top of the line and priced great. I couldn't turn down a good deal so I also bought a new printer and monitor from them. I like using local companies because you get to speak to someone face to face and didn't realize I was speaking directly with the owner.
Overall my experience was awesome. Don't waste your time going to Best Buy or some iFixEVERYTING mall store. Annapolis Geeks is best computer repair shop in Anne...

I cannot recall being treated so rudely by anyone, ever. I wouldn't allow my dog to whiz on their building.
Apparently the young witch answering the phone needs to have someone explain to her that just because you don't want to be bothered answering a caller's questions (that he was asking to determine your actual scope of abilities before tecommending you to a friend) doesn't mean you should be rude to them & unceremoniously hang up on them in mid sentence (after less than 90 seconds) without so much as a goodbye.
I'm the kindest, most helpful, understanding & soft spoken GENTLEMan you will ever meet, (as my other reviews should show) but my treatment by their staffer was beyond the pale of rude & only TRULY described by words i refuse to use.
What I'd LIKE to say at the moment ends with "...& the horse you rode in on."
If you're busy, say so. Ask me to hold, tell me youll have someone get back to me - all woyld have been met with "Thanks!" - but "I dont have time for this" at 8:45 AM followed by "Click!" Was not.
Had you treated me differently I would likely (after a few more questions) have suggested you contact (or be contacted by) a friend who needs emergency assistance with a CPA business network & to upgrade a couple of dozen PCs - a task I am unable to handle at the moment - & an easy $20 grand profit for any competent (though even inexperienced) "geek." Congrats, cupcake - i can't wait until your boss reads this.
As it is, I'd give a negative rating if I could but WILL advise anyone considering doing business with them to imagine how they will treat you AFTER they have gotten your money. Dont be a fool.
I (with 30 years' experience in Dundee of tee worlds largest IT projects) wouldn't touch them with YOUR ten-...
Read moreI hired this company to replace my office computer. They told me it would be cheaper to bring my existing computer in so they can transfer all content at their office and when they brought the new computer out it would be all set up. I went for that option. The morning of my 8am appointment they called at 7:45 to tell me all content had not been transferred yet. They said it would be a couple more hours. At 10:30 they showed up with new computer less monitor. Had to argue with the technician before he finally called his office so that they could tell him he should have brought a monitor with him. As the technician was setting up the new computer he realizes my accounting package is not on it. In fact he did not know what Quickbooks looked like. They lost my accounting package and erased my old computers memory!! Luckily my accountant had last years back up but I still spent a weekend manually entering (4) months of accounting. To add fuel to the fire, the technician was adamant about not leaving my office without a check for the labor performed that day! I sent them a bill for (4) hours of my time to enter accounting but they refuse to call or pay that bill. BEWARE!!!! Brian E. Dawes President Air...
