A TRUE review of a horrible first time experience. I was in town for work purposes, and was looking for a place to grab coffee and take a zoom call. I frequent the ceremony in Baltimore and figured this should be a solid choice. WRONG.

First, the service was poor. The two young ladies at the register did not greet or welcome me upon entering. One seemed irritated to even answer my questions. Second, the very first question I asked, was is there Wi-Fi because I SPECIFICALLY came in to take a work call. I was told yes. After I bought food and sat down, I could not connect to Wi-Fi. I went back up to the register, for one of the ladies to admit they had been having issues with the Wi-Fi for WEEKS. Yet, they failed to mention this, and were perfectly fine taking my money. With 20 minutes to go on my call, I am scrambling to find a new location to work from. Third, the place is TINY, extremely loud, with barely any seating. All of the tables were covered in food crumbs and coffee stains.

Zero starts would...

Ceremony makes truly great third-wave coffee. I just got back from Monterey, CA and visited a handful of coffee shops. While they looked like great coffee places (cool vibe, friendly staff, clean), their coffee frankly sucked. Monterey is very similar to Annapolis in vibe, and we expected their coffee to taste as good as the shops looked.

It really reminded me and again appreciate how great Ceremony is. When I first heard about Ceremony about 6 years ago, I thought it would be cool to pay more for my coffee and support a local business. But when I tried it, I realized that the coffee was actually great. I've been buying my beans for pourover (I like the Ethiopians) and espresso (Mass Appeal) ever since. My wife loves trying their seasonal lattes, and they are always kind to my dog when I bring him...

If you love quality coffee, get to know Ceremony Coffee Roasters. From out of this original location, they've expanded into several shops in Maryland (Annapolis, Baltimore and Bethesda). Many other coffee shops in the D.C.-Baltimore area brew their beans. It's from this location that they roast all of their beans.

My little family stopped in on a Sunday morning while on our way to Rehoboth Beach. The space is well designed with a large garage door that opens during warmer weather. There's indoor and outdoor seating.

Their coffee menu is always on point with several seasonal drinks throughout the year. My wife ordered a decaf latte and I a vanilla latte. Both came out well balanced and creamy.

They also sell a few pastries and...

So disappointed. Came here THREE times and tried a cappuccino (each time was a different espresso bean) and each time was so sour and acidic that I took one sip and couldn’t drink the rest. The brew I got was the same issue- super acidic. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep trying but I don’t really understand how they are selling this coffee or how people are drinking it. Maybe some people like their coffee like that, or maybe people don’t know what good coffee is supposed to taste like, or maybe most people are putting tons of sugar or just drinking tea when they come here.. idk. Just sad because this place is so cute and I really wanted to support a local business but its honestly just really bad coffee ):

I really love their coffee and the Loring in back is gorgeous. I purchased the instant cups which are incredibly helpful for traveling. Side note: I was taking a logo/ equipment picture (I call them “top shots”) of the equipment and the person (not sure of pronouns) felt I was taking pictures of them. Equipment is gorgeous and I would never take random pictures of people. But if you are snapping shots, be sure they know it’s not including humans, or ask as it looks like it’s a very soft subject for them. Didn’t want to continue the conversation and clarify with the person as they were already on edge, so be clear at the start to not make anyone uncomfortable!
