I'm assuming the gentleman I spoke with was the owner but I could be mistaken. I went in recently because i needed a part for my dryer that had conked out on me. After some research I figured out what part I needed (or so i thought). I went in to the store and asked the gentleman behind the counter for a starter relay (i think that's what it was called). He chuckled and told me I didn't need one of those and proceeded to ask me what was going on and what kind of dryer I had. I told him what was going on and he handed me a thermal fuse and said this is all you need. I looked at him with can only be perceived as doubt and skepticism but i also know NOTHING about dryers, so i took him at his word.
He was right. Dryer fired right up after swapping the thermal fuse.

Read moreMy husband & I have been calling around local appliance parts stores to price check & find a lower heating element for our oven. He called Gas-Electric and the Man he spoke with was very polite and helpful. He got the model number and checked to see if he had the part. He came back and told us he has it in stocks for $30 and would have it upfront with our name on it. I wanted to keep calling to see if there was a better price and called Appliance Parts & Services in pell city. The woman who I spoke with was very nice and said she would look it up and call me back. She called 5 mins later and for the lower heating element she said it would be $58 plus tax!! So... Needless to say... we're currently on our way to Gas-Electric to pick...
Read moreThese are fantastic, knowledgeable people. I have had to use them several times in the past for parts for various items around the house. They have great prices and are more helpful than almost any business I have dealt with for parts of this type. I have also noticed that a lot of things I can buy from the net for what I consider cheap, are only slightly more expensive here. An example would be a stove eye for canning. I paid $10.50 and had to wait a week. Two days later at Gas Electric I saw the same eye for $12 hanging on the wall. That's more than worth my time to go get it immediately from them instead of ordering it and it allows me to support a...
