Petco — Local services in Arlington

I have shopped this store for over 5 years now and truly loved it, for the most part employees are very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. That is why when my dog groomer moved away 2 months ago I thought of this store 1st to come to for my pets grooming and wellness needs. I came into the store to personally meet with the grooming staff and spoke with Robyn several days before I came for their 1st appt for my 2 Pekingese babies . I explained to her that I have a new puppy (5 mos) and she was rather rambunctious and was going to need someone that is patient so she can get use to being groomed along with my 3yr old who absolutely loves coming to be bathed and groomed. Robyn, who I now know is the Manager of the grooming salon, set the appointments herself-as her the groomer for both of my dogs with an 8:30am appt 01/19/2022. I confirmed my appointment by text and showed up 15 minutes early as requested to give her my dogs shot records. Not only was she not there-she wasn't even scheduled to come in today, which I find VERY unprofessional and rude!!! When I asked for the store employees that were there to call her, that when they called her, she acted she didn't know what was going on and it was going to be a bother to come in. I immediately told the store employee to just forget it-I was not coming back-I absolutely REFUSE to let someone to touch my babies when its a bother to them to even keep an appointment that they set themselves!! I have been coming to this Petco for almost a year now. I got my puppy December 2018. My first visit to this Petco (my first Petco ever actually) was me running it to grab a kong for my pup close to closing, this is when I met Buff. He was so nice and gave me the attention that I was not used to receiving from PetSmart. He asked me questions about my puppy and gave me their new puppy coupon book. My next visit into Petco is when I met Renna, the dog trainer, she asked me if she could give my dog a treat and we sat and talked for a minutes. I realized after this caring conversation with Renna that I wanted to cancel my dog training I had planned to schedule at PetSmart and wanted to schedule with Renna. I signed up for dog training that same day. The training I went through with my pup was fantastic and I really learned a lot! These first 2 experiences at Petco have really sealed the deal and I have rarely shopped at PetSmart since. I have also brought my pup to the grooming department about every month. Aletha is an amazing groomer! I truly feel she cares about my pup, and this really goes a long way with me. When I first started coming here I think she was one of the newer groomers, but seeing her affection and willingness to learn really made me want to come in just to see her. Every appointment I make is now with Aletha.

Took our two Dauschands to get groomed like we have done before at this store. The Appt was for 4:45. The lady said they would be done in 2-3 hours. I left my house at 7:45 to go pick them up because I didn't receive a phone call stating they were ready. I went into the store around 8:10, looked inside the grooming department, and no one was there. I asked the cashier, and she said she had to get her manager. Her manager Kenneth came and got our puppies for us. I asked why no one called me, and he said Briana said she called and got no answer. I showed him my phone and said I did not have a call from her. I asked what time they were ready to be picked up he said he didn't know that Briana left at 7:40. I then asked what their procedure was if puppies were left? I said you would think that the manager on duty would call the parent to see if something was wrong or if the puppy/puppies were getting picked up. He had no answer for me. While he went to get our puppies, I went and checked out. I went back into the grooming saloon to get our puppies and asked him for the person above him or the corporate phone number he told me it's on Google. No telling how long our puppies were sitting in the kennels waiting for us to pick them up. I am sure it was over an hour because they only weigh 8 pounds.
