Pizzato Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

Gentle Readers — it is not often that your intrepid explorer gets to announce a diamond fully formed has popped up in the neighborhood, but I am pleased to provide all of you with just such an announcement. While the missus and I were searching for a place to have a Friday pizza, we decided to try the place just down the street with the “Grand Opening” sign up. And we were not disappointed in the least. The crust had the perfect crunch on the bottom and chew throughout. The sauce was perfectly spicy. The toppings were very generous. And, most importantly, the extra cheese was really, really extra. This had the same vibe as some of our favorite Boston and North End pizza’s like Regina and Steve’s. The service matched the quality of the product — the owner even brought the pizza out to my truck! I really hope all who read this can give Pizzato their continuing business, as long as they continue giving their customers products that are this satisfying.

Never ordering from this place again, absolutely terrible service. I ordered delivery, and received a notification that my order had been picked up, I live a ten minute drive away. After 45 minutes I noticed that the drivers location hadn’t moved, and the estimate delivery time kept increasing. I called to see if there was an issue, and the person who answered the phone transferred me to the “delivery driver”, who said that he had no delivery orders, and anyways he had no drivers so nothing could be delivered. He was not apologetic, was extremely rude, and clearly had no interest in helping me out. I called back and they said this was a “mistake” and that person was incorrect, that my food would be delivered after all. No clarity on whether the food had actually been sitting in a hot car the whole time and forgotten. I call back a third time and I’m transferred to the same rude “delivery driver” who says he is not the manager, and that no one can help me. I call back a fourth time and I’m told the delivery driver picked it up 45 min ago and they don’t know where it is. I did not use a third party delivery service, so really it’s on them. They finally promise they will send it an hour and a half after it was supposedly picked up, doubting the freshness and quality at this point, I requested a refund. I’m honestly shocked with how rude and dismissive everyone was, and how eager they were to get rid of me instead of solving...
