Paws 'n' Play Arvada — Local services in Arvada

I took my pup for a wash here. I normally take her closer to home but wanted to give this place a try. I arrived about 15 minutes after they opened on a Thursday. I walked in, no customers yet and I was not greeted nor did I see anyone. I walked toward the back of the store and saw a young gal sitting on the floor stocking. She still did not acknowledge me. I said, "Hello, I am here for a dog wash." She did not look up, she just said, "go ahead it is in the back." I was unfamiliar with their dog wash but I proceeded back and found it. I put my pup in the basin, grabbed the sprayer and noticed it was covered with hair as was the hose (photo). I used the towel they had there and cleaned both off. The basin also had hair around it. I cleaned that as well. Then I proceeded to turn the water on. It would not go on. I tried and looked for turn on valves. I finally went to get the gal and asked for help. She was not happy with the interruption. She came back and said, "it's not hard" and proceeded to turn on the water, when it did not come on she adjusted a couple of valves between the tubs and walked out. I washed my pup and to be honest the shampoo and conditioner were like water, I was left with one towel to dry, which is what I used to clean the basin, hose and sprayer so I shook it out and used it so I would not have to "bother" her again. I was not happy with this service and that is disappointing as Bob (the owner) is AMAZING! I have known him for at least 6-7 years and he takes a lot of pride in his stores and his customers. Rude service. While washing our dog our baby was crying and the worker tried to hurry us because the baby’s crying was “distracting” to others. That is a very unthoughtful comment towards a mom in the back private room washing a dog. Distracting what!? The service was paid for…. we shouldn’t be hassled…. Also the worker was on her phone when we walked in and didn’t seem in a hurry to help us , and then later she was having an inappropriate phone conversation with my children in earshot. We will not be taking our business here again. We will find another dog wash place where don’t get distracted by a baby crying and try to hurry us out. This is a bummer because we used to like this business, but why would we give our money to a place that...

I have shopped at this store for many years. I have had some difficulty lately getting the product I normally buy without having to make extra trips. Last time someone promised to get me a bag in the morning and bring it over. I waited all day to get the product. It finally arrived at almost 5 pm. That isn’t morning. The “chain” store down the street does not carry my brand. I have bought the same item once a month for the last nine plus years. Now you aren’t carrying it at this location in a size I carry (40 lbs was all you had).
