Eh, it's just OK. A lot of the food seemed like it came out of cans and jars and put into bowls. Ordered the queso that on the menu states, "Queso + roasted corn, roasted peppers and fore roasted tomatoes. Thinking you could actually see it all like a good hearty chunky sauce, but more felt like Velveeta with maybe a hint of canned peppers, maybe a few canned tomatoes (though no real flavor of any) and no corn blended in a blender with hardly a hint of any of the other ingredients, served with artificially colored red, white and blue tortilla chips you can buy in bulk at Costco down the street. For a $15 bowl of cheese and the description, we definitely expected more. Sure you could add a bunch of other "add ins", but those are a $1-$2 each, buy the time you are done doing that you now have a $20-25 bowl of cheese. We chose to send it back then chosing to lap up 2 cups of basic cheese sauce. It should maybe be label a cheese sauce.

The goat cheese with marinara and crushed almonds was decent. Though served with cucumbers, 1 slice of pepper, cauliflower was some odd choices, the pita bread was good, though seemed Cisco bulk buy. The marinara seemed jarred as well.

Kids had the burger sliders and pizza, those seemed OK, buns were the Hawaiian style bun and some plain fries and (again canned) mandarin oranges in a bowl. Pizza was plain cheese, totally fine if you have kids. Maybe half ingredients added in house.

I guess you go there for the drinks. The food menu could use some parring. I see they are trying to be "different" given that there are now 5 Mexican style restaurants, a few burger /American flair joints, and an few Indian restaurants around the area. The building is cool, the people were nice, but man they could really work on the food. Their menu is kind of big and kind of random. No real cohesion. Chicken dipped in waffle batter then fried (county fair food or a bad riff on southern chicken and waffles) Queso sauce - southwest They used to have flat breads (Italian-ish). Sandwiches are just the sandwich and fries/side, no veggies or anything else if you order the fries, so plates are a little underwhelming

Probably won't be back. Most of the food seemed like items I can make a home...

Went to have dinner and drinks with friends (4 adults) on a Tuesday night. Overall, the experience was fine but not great. One major issue is the fact that everything is served on plates that are way too large given the size of the tables in the Library Bar (where we were directed to sit on a slow week night). We ordered 4 entrees and 1 appetizer with 4 waters and 3 alcoholic drinks, and could barely fit everything on the table. We were awkwardly stacking glasses and plates on top of each other and knocking elbows trying to reach shared items. It would have been a much better eating experience if there had been a table large enough to accommodate a standard number of items for 4 adults.

The second issue related to plating is the ridiculous size of the American grilled salad. Another reviewer mentioned how difficult this salad is to eat and I must agree with them. It's a delicious salad, and I ate the delicious leafy greens after sawing them off the yucky white stalks, but this salad could immensely be improved by not serving the crunchy white roots and chopping that half off the item, then a ridiculous sized plate wouldn't be needed to accommodate the salad. The vinaigrette is very good and pungent, you don't need a lot of it at all. The blue cheese crumbles really provide a good relief from the super savory bacon and croutons.

The service was meh. It wasn't awful, but we had better service from a sever who wasn't assigned our table. The disinterested attitude and obvious "I'm just here to work" tone was off putting. I'm not asking to be friends but a warm toned hello goes a long way in these interactions.

Otherwise, the meal was good. The buffalo chicken dip is well seasoned, and the portion is huge. Even after 4 adults sharing, there was so much left over. The chicken and waffle skewers are as good as other reviewers say. The batter is lightly sweetened, the chicken is moist, and the maple mustard is very good. The poutine is also nicely seasoned, the fries tasted like salt, and it was nicely put together.

The Teacher's Helper drink I had was the star of the show. Very coffee forward, nice icy glass, and very smooth vanilla flavor. Honestly one of the best coffee drinks I've...

Absolute train wreck! We had a reservation for 6 PM on Saturday evening. It was to celebrate my nephew's birthday, party of 5. We arrived on time for our reservation. The restaurant was busy, but we were quickly seated. We chose this place based on my sister/brother in law's previous experience here. The atmosphere is really cool. Old school house decor, globes, lockers, bus seats and old school chairs. That is the positive.

Bri was our server. We waited patiently she came over to take our drink order. My Brother in law, ordered an alcoholic drink which seemed like it was never going to arrive. He had to ask about it again after we had long ago received our beverages.

We ordered our food. 7:15ish rolls around. We still do not have food. Bri returns to say "There was a mixup in the kitchen and our order did not get made". She says, " Are you still interested in your entrees? Of course we are! My god, we have already been sitting here for an hour.

Where are we going to go on a saturday evening without at least another hour wait. We all kept our cool, but were extremely displeased with how this evening was progressing.

Umm yeah sure, clearly she forgot to put our order in.

We finally get our food. The wrong side item came with my sandwich. My sister's chicken sandwich is so dry, you need a drink just to swallow. Asking for a side of sauce for the chicken sandwich proved to be a waste of time. As when Bri got around to remembering ,my sister was no longer interested in the sandwich.

They did give my nephew a free desert for his birthday, but that ABSOLUTELY does not make up for the lackluster inconsiderate and TERRIBLE service we received here. 2 FREAKING HOURS to try and have a meal!

Then some man comes over to clear the table and agressively reaches in front of my sister to grab the plates. Not an excuse me, or a warning. I will NEVER return here again. So incredibly disappointing for a first...

We were in Old Town Arvada and decided to pop in for å quick bite. It was raining, otherwise we would have sat outside on either the main level or second deck outdoor seating area. We started with the dip trio. Thus was pretty much enough for our whole meal! There was a bowl of queso, Buffalo chicken dip and hummus with pickles, chips, pepper slices and pita bread. The dips were filling, a nice amount (we didn't finish!) and very good flavor. We both ordered the sweet potatoes tots which were hot, deep fried and solid. The chicken & waffle sandwich was unique, but came off well, even without using the maple syrup that came with the meal. The reuben was filled with corned been, falling out the sides. The kraut and dressing were also plentiful in this wonderful marble rye sandwich. Service, although not lacking, tended to be a little on the slow side. We had to ask for water refill as well as the bill. However, our plates were removed promptly. We had a bunch if leftovers with this meal and were given sturdy plastic take home containers. Prices were between $15 and $18 for the main courses and $14 for the appetizer. Will go back if in the area!!!

This place is pretty amazing. While I will have to split my whiskey discoveries between here and my usual other choices from proximity, this could very well be the last stop to ever need finding new whiskey. I asked for several things that are on the harder end to find, and while a good two or three they could not find, I was very happy with the ones they did have. Since the taste palate is kinda gone after a half dozen powerful drams, I'll be back for more! Update 09/2022: Even with the trek from where I live, (Littleton) this place is somewhere I come back by every few months at the least. There are just so many options, and if you are knowledgeable and try something unbeknownst to the staff, they'll ask you about it...(speaking of scotch in this case). And there are so many things that it would be impractical for all but perhaps 1 or 2 staff to have tried "most of it." Everyone's taste is subjective, but I found this a fun way to check how the spirit is by the staff, bant, and learn all at once. Of course, I get taught things too and learn and it's an appreciated experience. Stay beautiful School House!

School house is a great place with all the booze you could ask for. The staff is always helpful with recommendations for both food and drinks. They honor your reservation and social distancing is well in place. The cleaning between customers was solid and good to see. Service was on point and we wanted for nothing. Food was served perfectly cooked and even the high maintenance order, there is always one, was done with every detail accommodated. Two things that I will point out, children running around in the bar area is unacceptable, it's a bar so between the management and the parents one of them should have taken responsibility and not let that happen. Luckily for us the people with the three kids left shortly after we arrived and second, we never saw a manager. Its not a lost art to have the manager visit the table and ask if everything is good. The staff did a great job, food was perfect and the drinkers at the table had a huge variety to choose from. Great night for sure!
