She is cute, she is funny, she has mad cutting skills, but most of all she did the best haircut and color I have ever had in the U.S. to date. 🥳 Who am I talking about? Emily! Right here at Evolution Salon Ashville, NC. I called to see if I could possibly get an appointment on a short notice while traveling on the road because I am staying in town a few days. Little did I know that she is the best and had one opening just in time while arriving into town a few hours later. When I arrived I opened the door to see to the left long rows of shelves with many assortments of aveda products. To the right I see a few chairs and bench with old wood paneling on the walls with nicely decorated products /plants. The whole place was super clean almost spotless. In front of me just slightly to the right was the front desk with a candle burning sending soothing calm mood in the air. I hear from behind the back wood paneling wall "be there in a minute" and have a seat. I chose one of the comfy chair and was greeted by another stylist. Emily was just finishing up another customer. When she was done with her customer I saw her throughly clean the chair with sanitizer then sweep up the hair on the floor before she came to me with a big smile on her face. I only briefly told her over the phone what I was looking for so she sat me down and took the time to find out what exactly I was looking to get done for the best result. As you can see my haircut is short and a specific cut but no problem for Emily. The next step, the coloring, is where Emily's experience, knowledge, and mad skills came out. She had no idea my hair color till I arrived but quickly figured it out and mixed all the ingredients together. After applying the formula and letting it sit the right time she rinses my hairout. This is the best part of this story and why she is the best in my opinion. I have very stubborn hair on my chin that every place I have ever been to just either reapplies more color which at that point irritates my skin more because of my sensitive skin or keeps it on longer not really getting it all. Unfortunately, both can make my face uncomfortable. Emily immediately sees that my skin is alittle red and tells me she is going to mix up a product called "deep" to fix the problem instead of reapplying more ingredients from the first. I was floored! What is this deep and why have I never heard of this before now from an Aveda Salon before coming here. She applied deep and it was alot better on my skin plus it did fix the stubborn hair problem. She also told me that I should be using deep to do my color all in one shot. This is when I knew she was the best. The secret is out! Don't hesitate booking with her today. I have millions of views on my reviews so call for an appointment you won't be disappointed I promise. To Emily I want to personally thank you for the experience and knowledge you shared with me today. You have my business any time I am in town or passing...
Read moreI have given my hair a week to try and “adjust” to it and I am so unhappy. The first and biggest issue is that I asked Tina for a trim, but instead my hair was cut WAY shorter than anyone’s definition of a trim and TONS of layers were put in that I didn’t ask for. I NEVER even mentioned the word layers, I simply asked for a trim and for my hair to be thinned out. Even my friend commented on how short it is when I saw her afterwards. I have been trying to grow my hair out since last year and now I’ve been taken 5 steps back. Not to mention I aesthetically do not like my hair this short and would never ask for this. I had asked her to blow it out straight but she instead did a blow out with curled ends, which is why I didn’t notice exactly how much she chopped off until wash day when I straightened my hair, thinking the curls were hiding length. The shortest layer is basically just below my chin and the shortest part of my hair before was almost touching my collarbone. Towards the end I even had to suggest that I thought it was enough cutting when she was “thinning” it out. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I hadn’t asked her to stop.
The second issue is that she put WAY too dark of color on my roots. It looks to be a level 5 when it should’ve been a level 6, it looks awful and is washing me out because I’m fair. At least I can get that fixed, but the length of my hair is not fixable. Additionally, she was getting hair dye all over my forehead and eyelid, and seemed shocked when I asked her to please be careful to not get hair dye all over my forehead and face because I had errands to run afterwards. She said she’d “wipe it off” and I said, I didn’t want all of my makeup wiped off.
Couldn’t be more dissatisfied. My advice would be, that you get what you pay for and to find...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience I have ever had. First off they didn’t even have the colors needed to do my hair color yet booked me anyway. Not only that but They didn’t schedule enough time to finish my hair correctly. I was basically rushed out the door. My hair was wet and frizzy and they stylist kept refusing to finish my hair even tho I was mentioning multiple times that it was my birthday and I was going out after the appointment. It is not my fault you had another client waiting for you. When you book a service you should know how much time is needed to complete a service. I felt like all they cared about was my money and not the quality of service they where giving me. When I got home and brushed out my hair once it dried I realized that the cut was very uneven and choppy. I called the next morning and asked if they could fix it for me and they told me to come in. When I arrived driving 45 minutes the stylist then told me she didn’t have time to fix it and that I would have to come in next week because she’s booked. I was frustrated but kept my composure and politely as I could asked for them to fix my hair or at least give me a refund for the cut as it wasn’t don't right. I never expected to receive a full refund as I am aware a service was done. After they gave me attitude and basically bring me to tears she agreed to look at my hair which turned out to be a 10 minute fix and no one was even waiting by the time she finished. Basically tried to rush me out the door a second time after telling me to come in for nothing. I will never return here. I will give my money to a salon that cares about the quality of their work and not the amount of clients they can...
