Reciprocity is an Asheville treasure that has been serving the community with unique fashion finds and a welcoming atmosphere since 2009. Located conveniently on the corner of Brevard Road and Haywood Road, just across from Biscuit Head, it's a must-visit spot for fashion enthusiasts. From the moment you step in, owner Toni and her lush greenery create a warm and inviting environment, giving off those perfect jungle vibes. Toni's background in social work shines through in their commitment to fostering connections and community through clothing and social justice donations. They're now celebrating 14 incredible years in business, thanks to their dedicated customers and their impact on the community. Reciprocity offers an array of new and resale women's boutique clothing featuring popular brands like Free People, Frye, Anthropologie, Madewell, and Urban Outfitters. Their denim collection is extensive, occupying an entire wall, and their selection of boots is fantastic. The shop's ambiance is best described as boho and chill, reminiscent of shopping at your fun and artsy aunt's place. One unique detail that sets them apart is that everything hangs on wooden hangers, ensuring nothing falls while you browse. Besides their excellent stock of seasonal items, you might even encounter a friendly store doggie during your visit, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too. Toni and her staff are not only knowledgeable about fashion but are also great folks to chat with for recommendations on how to make the most of your day in Asheville after your shopping spree. Reciprocity's hours make it convenient for shoppers with different schedules, and they accept up to 15 in-season items for store credit when you're looking to sell. What's even better is that your store credit never expires, giving you the flexibility to shop at your own pace. Parking is a breeze, with free parking available around the corner, shared with the nearby guitar shop. The store itself is easily accessible, all on one level, with no stairs to navigate. The fitting rooms offer ample space, making your shopping experience comfortable. Payment options are convenient, as you can pay with cash or card, and returns are accepted for store credit. I've personally found some fantastic pieces at Reciprocity, including a cozy white sweater perfect for the holidays, a colorful knit poncho, and versatile leopard-print shorts that go with everything. It's the place to discover unique fashion items that stand out. In summary, Reciprocity is more than just a clothing store; it's a vibrant part of the Asheville community. If you're in town, be sure to stop by, say hello to Toni and the team, and explore their wonderful collection of clothing and accessories. Your wardrobe will thank you, and you'll be supporting a local business with a heart for social good.

In the market for a truly AVL experience? You'll find it here! This store has its spiritual roots in the happy times... WAAAYYY back when we did cool stuff like, race kayaks in the reflecting pool and joust bikes on Lexington. If you want high quality goods at reasonable prices; purchased from a kind person with a genuine smile and community values... ALL ARE WELCOME šŸ˜āœŒšŸ’—

High prices for things of. It great quality. Buttons were falling off the jacket at the register and it didn’t lower the price. If the jacket was for more than just Halloween I wouldn’t have bought it.

I come here regularly and always enjoy good finds from great brands. The store is a great size for a 30-45 min shopping trip, big enough to have stuff for all body types, but small enough to not be overwhelming. It’s not noticeably cheap compared to other consignment stores, but the way that Toni (owner) shows up in the community and the quality of the items ensures it’s worth it! I wholeheartedly recommend stopping in.

Now, all of that said, today I had a notably poor experience. I walked in and the store REEKED of weed, which is atypical. I thought about saying something but decided to mind my own business. Then, while I was in the dressing room, the employee was quite rude to some tourists who were passing through and obviously out of their element. The way they were spoken down to made me feel sad enough to write this review.

I want to emphasize that this has never been my experience at reciprocity before; every other interaction with staff and the atmosphere has always been lovely. I will still absolutely be going back, but I’d be remiss not to mention such an outlier of...

I don’t know that I can type anything to do this store or Toni justice. First of all the customer service I experienced was impeccable. From the moment we opened the door, to my fitting room try on session, to payment. I’ve never felt more welcomed and genuinely cared about in a shopping experience ever. I am a Asheville native so this meant A LOT to me in my shopping experience. That alone is enough to keep me shopping at Reciprocity however, the clothing selection. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Anthro, Free People, Frye, Steve Madden, Madewell. This is just a sliver in the options that were available for me to choose from! I haven’t even mentioned the price point. I paid less than 60% off retail on a BRAND NEW Free People top. The best hidden gem in Asheville! I almost don’t want to tell anyone how great the place is because I want to keep it to myself. Reciprocity has outdone itself in a Boutique experience! I look forward to many more shopping...
