We had a group of 15 ladies that wanted to get together for my 50th birthday. My friend called Monday and asked if she could make a reservation for Saturday at noon when they opened. The lady got back to her on Wednesday she dates they do not make reservations, however, thanked my friend for letting her know there would be that many people coming for staffing purposes. Saturday we all met there at 15 minutes until til noon to wait to get in. At noon the door was unlock and the lady would not even open the door for us. When we walked in the young lady at the podium asked us how many people we had, and told us to go to the back where there were couches and one coffee table. So unfortunately that would not work as we were eating and had a child as well. My friend went to the front and stated this. The lady with curly black hair down to her shoulders stated that is the only place that will accommodate us very rudely. So we then asked if we could move to the two tall tables so we could eat. The lady then stated you can sit there, however, you need to remain seated and could not get up in between tables to talk. Again she was very rude about this. Then the manager short black curly hair came out and said what do you need. I stated to her are you kidding me we cannot move around or get up. This is ridiculous. She said this is what we have. I stated to her that ever since we walked in the door someone has been rude to us. The manager then stated no one has been rude to you and you are being silly. Let me tell you. I wanted to come unglued on her. I could not believe an owner would ever want the manager to treat people like this. I walked away and went to sit down. I dated to my friends that I cannot give any of my money to this establishment now or ever again. We called cellar 426 and they said come on over. We had the most amazing day. We will now send all of our business...

I did end up speaking with the bartender mid week who was lovely and said just show up when they open and they should be able to accommodate us just fine and thanked me for the heads up so they would be ready for us on a Saturday. They don't take a reservation for groups unless you rent the spaces if available. We arrived way early - first in line before they opened to be exact. The hostess did her best to get us in a space they had her put us in. It wasn't fitting for us to eat or for the age difference in our party. When the management was asked by our birthday girl and others, if we could have some kind of table so we could order food, she was met with snide and rude comments. That was the manager! They just opened... there was plenty of room to help us celebrate. After two different rude outbursts by staff and management, we were told we could use two tables and split our party, but we had to STAY seated. Can't move stools and couldn't move around. Stay where we were. I did not know we were in a NO SOUP FOR YOU establishment?! After looking at each other in disbelief, we tossed leaving or staying. Why give our money and time when so disrespected? So we stood up and apologized to the bartender and hostess as this was no fault of theirs and walked out. I have never been treated like this - let alone a group our size. I am so glad we left and carried on with our day. Just so bummed that a place we have supported tried to ruin a day of celebration. Big mistake. Huge. I must go spend my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter was in town over the weekend, so my wife, myself and my daughter drove down to Ashland from Gretna to visit the shops. Prior to stopping in Glacial Till Cider House we purchased pastries from another place. We stopped in Glacial Till afterwards and ordered cider, left a nice tip during payment. We sat down at the table and started drinking our cider while having a nice conversation with our daughter, whom we donāt get to see often as she works in Colorado. As an afterthought we decided to eat our pastries while drinking our cider. Soon after a very rude and older lady came up to our table and told us we were not allowed to eat outside food while in their establishment. She could have stopped there but continued to tell us that is why they have a kitchen so people can buy their food from their establishment. It felt very awkward afterwards as we all stuffed our half eaten pastries back in the brown bag. The place felt very unwelcoming afterwards as Iām sure people sitting at tables around us heard her scolding us. It would have been more appropriate for the establishment to simply post a sign stating the rules instead of trying to publicly scold people for doing something they didnāt realize was wrong. I will make it a point to never go back, and will share my experience...
