First time trying Ashland Brewing Company and it was pretty good ! We arrived and thought all of the outdoor areas and seating was pretty cool. It was nice outside and the place was busy. We wanted to sit outside because it was so nice out, only to find out you can’t order food from the TONS of tables outside. Real odd, real annoying. That’s a lot of potential lost revenue and tips for staff. All of the staff we spoke to about it didnt agree with it. We ended up going upstairs to the bar and found a spot at the outdoor bar - which you could order food from. They don’t have a flight but they do have mini beers for $3. Not bad. So I ordered 4 of them and made my own flight. We ordered the pretzel app. It came with beer cheese, honey mustard and a grain mustard. We tried all 3 but preferred the beer cheese. The pretzels came out in a decent time. They were nice and hot to the touch. They had a slight crunch to the outside but the inside was nice and soft like fresh bread. For the meal we ordered the KC Bbq smash burger. It seemed to take awhile for this one. We didn’t time it , but it felt longer than it should be. The place is new, they’re figuring it out - they get a pass this time. The smash burger comes with the burger, bacon , cheddar cheese , fried onion strings and bbq sauce. I opted to order without bbq sauce and got a side of beef cheese which I poured on top of the burger. We both thought it was very good. It was a 9. It being a smash burger, it woulda been nice to have a little char / crisp edges. The fries they say are hand cut. While good - they don’t actually appear to be hand cut , soaked in water and then fried like places would do. They had the typical fry crunch & feel to them. They looked like shoe string fries with some random pieces of potato skin on them.
Overall the place was fun and good. We’d go back. Things we didn’t like - 1) the wait for the burger was a little long - but we took into account of the place only being open 4 weeks and working the kinks out. 2) not being able to order food from the outdoor tables. Which there are a lot of them. We didn’t like it, nor did the staff. There were constant customers coming up to ask the bartenders why. If this continued - we would find somewhere else if it’s a nice day to be outside to only know you can’t eat outside there. If able to eat at the outdoor tables, I would’ve...
Read moreAfter driving by the Brewery we decided to give it a try. The Brewery has a great location with the potential to do quite well. However, to say we were more than disappointed is an understatement. After reading through many of the reviews it is obvious that there are problems that need to be worked out in order for this tap room to survive. A large scale of the brewery appears to be a gaming house. I would think table turn over is a challenge when you have a group of corn hole enthusiasts. For those considering the brewery be aware that when you arrive you will see empty tables but will be told at the hostess desk that you will have a wait time before you can be seated. There are two bar areas where you can “wait”. One bar on the lower level and one bar at the upper level. Once a waitress arrives with drink menus you will notice that the menus do not reflect what is on the website. The drinks are very limited. Needless to say, to be need a “brewery” I would have thought that the selection of their own brews would have been a key component to the establishment. The selection is very limited. Very limited. When you finally get a table to eat please be aware that your service will be less than attentive or timely. I will also note that this problem has nothing to do with enough staff. It has more to do with training and function. You will need to ask for water - if you ever see your wait staff. You will also need to be prepared to wait for well over 30 minutes to receive your order - basically a burger and fries.
Sadly, this place has potential. The problems we experienced and others experienced should have been worked out in a dry run with management and staff. I wish the “brewery” luck. You are going to need it to survive. We will...
Read moreHad a girls days out and decided to stop by and try this place out.
We waited about 45 minutes to be seated. While waiting two of our people went to the bar to order drinks took about 20 minutes to get two cocktails and two beers. So a little slow the waiting area was nice although definitely recommend more shade and fans on hot days but thats just a wish. I ordered the flora... boy this drink was good but it was strong. It was super pretty too.
Hostess was great we got seated on the 2nd floor. Took awhile to actually get service though.
Service needs a lot of work. We were just constantly waiting.. maybe 15 minutes from when we were seated to order.
Maybe 20 minutes for food. Not bad. We ordered the wings, salmon sliders with a side of their onion( can't remember the name), nachos and their pretzel bites.
Pretzels and their beer cheese was good.
Salmon bites was really good whatever sauce they use is delicious.
The onion rings were cold though. Flavor was good. They were Just cold.
The nachos! Flavor was good. But I wish it was more distributed. Everything was kind of in the middle. But cool presentations.
Here is why I give 3 stars. The service needs a little work. Once our food arrived we never saw our waitress. After about 10-15 minutes she stop by. They kept bringing us random food throughout our stay. We asked for additional condiments never got them. Took about 20 minutes before we were noticed after we were done!. But maybe because it was busy and it was new. But service needs a little more improvement, just in my opinion with timeliness. We never got a refill on water. However. Despite the service being slow. Our waitress was nice and kind. Food did taste great. So overall would recommend...just don't...
