Van Dyke Grocery — Local services in Atchison

113 years and 5 generations in the family, this still is a great grocery store, with a lot of small town atmosphere. The service was outstanding and very friendly

Besides the small town friendly atmosphere, the deli and the butcher shop stood out. On the deli side the ham salad is known as there stand out but I liked there assortment of cheeses, personally.

The Meat side is more to my liking. I ended up buying and trying the Ham Salad, Hawaiian Bratwurst, Boss Hog sausage and some sausage links. All were really good but the Hawaiian Brat was my favorite.

Here I am 5:58 outside of the store and they are closed. I JUST CALLED 10 min ago and the person that answered said they would be open if I came before 6 because she said if there is no one here AT 6!!!!! then we will close the store down. This isn’t the first time this has happened it’s been multiple times and it blows my mind to even allow me to come in when I called at 5:45 you should have told me DONT come in rather me driving all the way here BEFORE closing just to see the closed sign and lights off.
