Beautiful historic building desperately in need of heightened security measures. There are no metal detectors or armed security at entrances which frightens me. Otherwise, the majority of the staff are quite helpful with the exception of the county attorney who refused to prosecute, despite "substantially conclusive KBI evidence that a violent crime did in fact occur against me." He protected the individual who violently assaulted and tried to kill me and let him walk free when I was assured that the individual would be incarcerated from the detectives handling the case. I was informed by one of the detectives that both detectives and their superior went to his office "insisting that the individual be prosecuted with the final KBI evidence and multiple interviews from highly trained professionals." I contacted the Kansas Attorney General's office and was told that since this was an elected official by the citizens of Atchison County, the only thing I could do was file a grievance, which he would know who wrote it.
