Achachi International Market — Local services in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

This is the second time I have had an issue at this shop.

First off, they have no prices on any of their items and the prices at check out at 2-3x higher than what you would be paying somewhere else.

On top of that, they have a $10 card minimum. Although I understand that many stores have a minimum, this minimum has led to issues on 2 separate occasions.

1. On the first occasion (one month ago), the lady told me I need a $10 minimum on my card so I paid her in cash. She took my cash and did not give me my change. After which, I had to ask for my change and wait for her to fetch her manager so he could unlock the register and give me my change.
2. On the second occasion (today), she told me again that I needed a $10 minimum. My total was $8.60 so she said she can round up my total $0.50 cents up. I told her that the total still isn't $10 but she said it will work if we add $0.50 cents. If the total still won't be $10, why does it matter if the total is $8.60 or $9.10. Are they trying to scam us by adding $0.50 to people's total for no reason?

There are other international markets in Athens which much better service and great prices. Unfortunately, this store will not be getting my...

I was the first one to visit and give a 5-star review for this shop, also spread the word out so they could get more business, right when they started the business. I have to change my review because of several observations. They started out really well however the quality quickly dropped. I got their frozen biryani once and it was well within the expiry date. however it was rotten and made me sick. I emailed the owner to which there was no response and no apology whatsoever. Several more observations such as the outside of food boxes smell and foods in the fridge such as peeled garlic and lychee were all rotten and with fungus, still kept for customers to buy. so instead of focusing more on playing music and keeping the customers entertained, the focus should be redirected to maintain the quality that they started out with. It has exorbitantly overpriced items, many of which are often expired. Most items also do not have price tags. But the worst thing is that when you confront the owner in the shop or online through reviews, he will be extremely disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. He will either tell you not to visit his store anymore, say something bad about your upbringing or character, or just outright blame you for lying or being sponsored by other businesses. We should at least not give such stores business anymore, if not report their bad practices to the authorities. Note: I know the owner will leave some mean response, so I'll edit the review if/when it receives a response. (Edit: Your malpractices show either you haven't been fed by yours or you are way too greedy. And yes, you and your haven of overpriced, expired goods is a waste. Guess who needs...
