I have been shopping at Fook’s Foods for 10 years, starting back when they were off Baxter Street. I was so glad when they moved to this Milledge Avenue spot. It’s a bigger location and there is plenty of parking. Karen, the owner, is very helpful and also very blunt. I’ve appreciated that through the years. She’s very honest about her opinions and her recommendations. I go shopping there probably two or three times a month. A few of the things I always buy are 25 lb bags of rice, rice paper, oyster sauce, dumplings, wontons, yu choi, and Asian candies.
During this time of Covid, I’ve been so glad they have stayed open. I have never seen anyone without a mask in the store. Few people would probably want to make Karen chastise them though. Hah! Read moreI'm editing this review and moving my 5 stars to a 1 because you cant give a 0. I used to choose to drive out of my way to this store instead of the ones closer to me but today when I drove down here to get three simple items they had a sign on the door stating to wait until they were ready to let people inside, as well as a note with their hours for today marked off so i stood there waiting with 3 other people when the owner pulled up and and basically chewed aus all out for standing in front of her store door while they weren't open and basically stated that it was obvious they were closed even though we saw people inside and were listening to the rules ahe posted on the door. I will be letting everyone I know that they should choose a different store. I get that things are crazy right now but she had no right talking to paying customers the...
Read moreGo to the nice Asian grocery in the shopping center on Gaines School Road by Choo Choo. They are very nice in there and even though there is a language barrier, the fellow in there is nice and helpful with a great selection of items. If not that, take a drive to Pleasant Hill Road off I85 going into Atlanta. There you will find the Super H Mart and the Great Wall, both are Wal-Mart sized asian super markets that even have live fish and other things to eat you can't imagine, the best fresh vegetables, just an amusement park of food including Asian food courts . There is also the Hong Kong Market off Jimmy Carter. You can literally spend the day at these places.
BY ALL MEANS AVOID THAT RACIST MEAN HATEFUL PERSON AT FOOKS FOODS. SHE WILL RUIN YOUR...
