I went to Kroger's and those of you who shop there know the inherent problems, not enough help, indifferent employees and high turnover. Yesterday was different, I didn't have to wait forever to checkout. Although the cashier was not even cordial, the customer service lady was really nice and so was a woman who works in curbside, Nora. She is extremely helpful and just a nice lady. I like that they have put up signs stating that masks must be worn, but, sadly, are not enforcing it. I saw a few young people( I thought that I was invincible when I was young and C-19 doesn't typically make youth sick or kill them) not wearing masks, and was standing so close to me, that the customer service woman had to ask him to step back. I don't understand, are they ignorant of the increase of numbers of C-19 in GA? That we have a serious problem with a governor who, although he and his family are safe, I'm sure, refuses to protect elderly people from those who feel that C-19 isn't really dangerous and won't wear masks? One employee was walking around with his mask on his chin and then answered the phone. Total set-up for an older employee. Everyone else, though, that I saw working, had a mask on. I also like the changes that they are making, gearing towards healthier options. So, good experience at Kroger's . I hope...
Read moreThis Kroger is usually the one I avoid. It's close to campus and in a high concentration housing area, serving multiple apartment complexes and neighborhoods. Parking is usually fierce and can be unsafe as well.
I stopped in today because it is currently spring break: Much quieter than normal. I took my time going through the aisles.
The space is packed with food and soft goods. It is also very claustrophobic with tall shelves, a few odd angles creating semi-blind corners and the aisles seem narrow. Even the produce area and bakery/ deli are too closely populated with displays and cold cases.
In addition, I did not feel the layout was logical. Of course it is designed to force movement through the store and expose shoppers to the maximum number of products. They are a business, after all.
The selection at this location is expansive. Yet there seems to be little to tempt a shopper like me. I buy few mainstream household products and prefer to cook from scratch. I do prefer this Kroger's produce section over others in town - the rapid turnover and large customer base helps ensure fresher veggies.
While crowded supermarkets are becoming the norm, I think I will continue to avoid this particular Kroger. It's just a...
Read moreOne of the nastiest, understocked (of basic things in the Deli), rudest, racist Krogers in North Georgia. If you can, go to the Epps Bridge location or the newest one on HWY 29. If you buy food at the store and want to save time by heating it up in the store Cafe or simple eating a sandwich in the Cafe like HWY 29 encourages... you'll be harassed and told that this Cafe is an employee area and you are not welcome. Then you'll be told that Kroger isn't a homeless shelter by another employee who was not even involved (just a rude person being rude). Yeah, obviously homeless people are in the area but that doesn't make every single person that uses your Cafe a homeless person. Not only that, for an "employee area" this place is disgusting. You would think the employees would keep the area clean of it's their "break room". But it's not and no one keeps this place clean anymore. I've seen BLOOD all over the seats before, had to tell an employee who didn't bother cleaning it up. I've been disrespected and told to leave multiple times. I've been harassed. The ONLY reason I come back is because of how close the location is to my work. Someone needs to do something about this place. Oh, did I mention the...
