Employees here are mendacious and gatekeepers (select few, not all). Today, I went to shop for HK ceramics. I spotted a HK ceramic that I've been wanting for longest and I finally spotted one. I go to check out to purchase the item, the cashier did not say hello nor how are you or anything. She immediately saw what was in my hands and said "I'm so sorry to tell you this but this item should have not been on the floor and that I can not sell it to you due to it being broken and "safety hazards". (MIND YOU, IT'S NOT BROKEN ITS CHIPPED LITERALLY THE PAINT IS CHIPPED and how did she know it was already "broken?") I immediately say "what, that's crazy and the first time I've heard this". I asked for a manager, also another cashier came up to our situation trying to back up the cashier saying "the item got returned yesterday and it should've never been out on the floor today" while she was explaining to the manager (anyways hmm how funny everyone is getting involved for this particular item?). Anyways spoked to the lady named Ravin she claimed "for safety hazards and that she needs to follow her manager orders as well." Even another employee (when I walked away) said I'm not sure why they won't sell you the item because it is salable. Anyways, what is weird is that TJMAXX has broken items on their shelves and even on the clearance section still up for sale. So it's funny how they could not sell me the "broken" item to me but have other items still up for sale all broken LOL. I've seen customers bring back broken items and the employees still mark the price down and put it back on the shelves for sale. If they couldn't sell the item why not break the item and throw it in the trash and not kept and store away behind the registers? Good thing I have footage and y'all can see how crazy this interaction was. If an employee wanted the item, then just say it. Don't make a whole LIE about it. I get it, there's people who go crazy for the HK items but I was not one of them and really wanted this item. Overall, jokes on "putting the customers first" with this particular...
Read moreI love tj maxx and have been to many locations all over the U.S, and will continue to shop there for the great prices but today had the most unpleasant experience at the Athens location on 01/10/20 around 3ish with the blonde clueless older woman working the jewelry section. My boyfriend and I walked up and she was finishing helping a customer and told us she would be with us after checking out the customer. No problem, totally fine I can wait my turn. With her back turned to me they then proceed to have a full on 10 minute conversation about life while I’m just standing there waiting for assistance. The customer finally leaves and another older woman walks up asking to see something, but I point out that I had been standing there waiting and thought she would remember she acknowledged me. I hear the other customer say “well how do I know she’s (talking about me) been there that long” which is so rude and you’d think someone of her age would have manners. The sales woman proceeds to say “i don’t know who was here and you both want me” at that moment i was in disbelief because she couldn’t be serious. To resolve the issue she calls for help and the new girl who had short brown hair was so pleasant and helpful that she saved me from saying something else to the first sales associate. Maxxnista for life but please don’t place someone with poor customer service skills all by themself in a section that has potential to make high profit...
Read moreVery nice place to shop. Never had any type of issues shopping but wait until you have to return something. I have purchased lots of things from this establishment and this is the first time I have returned something. I had emailed receipts and they returned my items that had were still. I purchased one item that was still hanging on the hanger. Not even used at all. I bought this 4 days before trying to return. The cashier told me she would need management to sign off of it since it doesnt have a tag. I thought okay thats fine. She comes back and tells me the manager found discoloration on it. I ask the cashier where there is discoloration and she could not even tell me where it was. She asks for the manager to come back. The manager points out a spot where there is nothing on it. Not even the cashier can see what she is talking about. I then ask should i just come back with the tags and the cashier responds with "Maybe you should sell it on ebay". What in the world? I dont know if someone was just having a bad day but I have not received this type of bad customer...
