I remember scheduling a meeting with the welding instructor when I was a younger(18, I am now 29)

During the meeting the instructor told I should consider other options, because if I were to take their welding course most jobs would want me to be out in the field, and I didn’t look like somebody who could handle it.

I moved to s different state to live with my father who encouraged me to come check out a trade school there that offered a 40 week pipe fitting and welding course. I ended up completing that course early and have spent the last 8 years in the field, working 84 hour weeks, earning over 100k a year.

I have no idea if that same welding instructor still works here, but I remember that guy a lot. Him not believing in me really fueled me. Very disorganized in the office I’ve been told twice I had everything done and I would be called in the next couple day TWICE. Both times I’ve called and they’ve responded like they have no idea what I’m talking about. I’m not in there system.
